I'm 3-4 missions from the end, and I'm doing my best to try and 100% it, although if I have to get gold medals in the time trials, then it can fuck off. I finished the main story last night. My god the last “boss battle” is tough, and I thought Scream was tough! Going to go back and do all the side quests now which should keep me busy for a while. Quote

I think I had more issue with Scream than I did the final boss battle. I should say, (plot spoilers) Spoiler fucking up shit with Venom was incredibly fun. Quote

Keith Houchen Posted January 8, 2024 Posted January 8, 2024 Saw Disco Elysium is a tenner in the Xbox sale, I pictured @Merzbow doing the approving nod as i committed to buying it. Quote

Keith Houchen Posted January 10, 2024 Posted January 10, 2024 Girlfriend is playing Bramble - The Mountain King. It’s a platformer type game that’s based on Scandinavian folklore and tales. Started off super cutesy and magical, with gnomes, toadstools and other forest fairy tale stuff. But it got so dark so quickly I thought someone was debuting in AEW. Really good game, it’s on Game Pass Quote

Your girlfriend will very much like Little Nightmares 1 and 2 if she enjoyed this. Quote
CAREBEAR LUVVA Posted January 10, 2024 Posted January 10, 2024 I've just started a co-op farm with a pal on Farming Simulator 22. Neither of us has a clue what we're meant to be doing so we're making it up as we go along. We bought a lawn mower and I watched with glee as my mate mowed a massive penis into a field. Then we bought a forage wagon and collected all the grass, and now we're trying to decide if it was even worth it. I think we're going to buy a silo and put the grass in there until we figure something out. All this took three hours, and we both enjoyed it immensely. Quote

Paid Members LaGoosh Posted January 12, 2024 Paid Members Posted January 12, 2024 I recently bought Super Mario Wonder and I'm wondering (oh yes) what the fuss was about. It seems pretty basic and standard 2D Mario so far. I'm pretty bored by it, especially after hearing it's full to the brim with wacky, mad and joyous stuff. Does it get better the further in you are? I've not played it but I've often found Mario games get very favourable reviews. They are usually decent but not these wonderous games they would have you believe. Quote
Merzbow Posted January 12, 2024 Posted January 12, 2024 From what I've seen most of the really cool bits are almost straight up taken from Rayman's 2D reboot series. Quote

We finally picked it up too and these are my thoughts. It’s a bit weirder than the other games but once you get over the surprise of Elephant Mario or singing plants there’s really not much going on with it. For a game that boasts up to 4 player co-op too there are way too many levels based on running full speed and timing jumps. It’s made 2 player a bit like playing Sonic 2 where Tails just keeps dying and doesn’t really get to play. At the very least though they got rid of that awful friendly fire they had on old games where you would keep accidentally picking each other up when you pressed run. Quote
Paid Members Scratch Posted January 12, 2024 Paid Members Posted January 12, 2024 Same, I got very, very bored of Super Mario Wonder very, very quickly. I'm a huge Mario fan, but really don't get the hype. I also didn't rate Mario Odyssey either, and that also gets a heap of praise. I'm probably just too old for them now, maybe? Quote

I found Mario Odyssey just ok but enjoyed Bowser's Fury which felt really fresh and exciting. Gave up on Super Mario Wonder and just finished The Forgotten City which I had never heard of until it was recommended by some fine folk in this very thread. I absolutely loved it.
