UK Kat Von D
The MITB match was awful to be fair. It was like watching the Big Bang Theory without the laugh track. AEW put way more effort in with their street fight last week which was far more entertaining. Saying that, there isn’t a reason to fear for the future of WWE. At least not creatively. They’ve still got the best wrestlers in the world and most of the greatest minds in the business. It’s just run by a senile old nutter and micromanaged to the point where a lot of their roster have to work overtime to salvage the shit sandwich they are constantly presented. WWE is still capable of putting on a great show, things just have to change in management before that can happen

He's a guy who got over going to anger management classes with Kane. He got over with "yes/no chants." He got over with a silly haircut. They still shouldn’t have made him look like a geek (copyright Bryan Alvarez). What about people who stopped watching wrestling fifteen years ago and never saw any of that stuff? Real fans. They were expecting the Cattle Mutilation. Given Danielson’s serious wrestling past in ROH/Japan/All Star before Kevin Dunn handcuffed his moveset, he should’ve been the one person in the match treating it like an actual sport. Let Otis and Corbin do their no-workrate wacky sports entertainment shit, but don’t drag Dragon into it. Let him be taking it seriously, like he’s actually trying to win a pro wrestling match. It’s not rocket science, all they’d have had to do is a couple of times during the match, he gets locked in a cupboard and when he gets out of it he’s had a magic costume change and he’s doing one of his older gimmicks, like trying to hug everyone lol. But knowing Vince, that sort of thing is too realistic and not hokey enough to be good shit, pal. The AmDrag stuff wasn’t the only problem with the match, either. It’s an absolute shambles that flash-in-the-pan comedy character Otis has only ever had about two singles matches, yet he’s in a ladder match for a title shot. And then he wins the fucking thing! Paid Members tiger_rick Posted May 14, 2020 Paid Members Share Posted May 14, 2020 Top rope nation podcast is funny. They all agree that the only thing that's for certain is Otis isn't winning. Look forward to their review.

There's always been a mixture of things in wrestling. And there's more options now than ever. It's easier to access other companies online than having to try and rely on tape traders etc. If you're into older stuff then that's out there too. I get that MITB wasn't for everyone. It certainly wasn't something I'll be watching again probably ever. But I do appreciate them thinking outside the box and trying to make something of this current situation. It was harmless 'fun' in dark times. Adding to this, those who have been to house shows or seen dark matches will know that they do silly fun stuff, albeit off camera. Granted it may not quite be climbing WWE HQ you do see some 'fun' and random things happen (might be an idea for a thread).

Revenues, profits, market cap and almost any other measurable you'd judge the success of a business on. The past five years have been monster for WWE. The product might not be to everyone's taste but as a company, it's closer to resembling something like Disney than it is a traditional wrestling company.
