Paid Members wandshogun09 Posted August 11, 2025 Paid Members Posted August 11, 2025 It’s murky when it comes to who actually gets the PPV cut, which is no doubt by design on the UFC’s end. They don’t like anyone knowing who gets paid what. I’ve always thought it’s just the top stars but then I’ve heard a lot that you get it when you’re the champion. Obviously it still depends on your star power because a PPV headlined by a Pantoja title defence isn’t gonna generate as big a PPV cut as a PPV headlined by a Jones or Pereira title defence or whatever. But whatever, it just seems like another way for the UFC to take a bit more of the revenue split away from the fighters. Even if it’s only a select few fighters who were getting it anyway. Quote
Dai Posted August 11, 2025 Posted August 11, 2025 Thinking about it a bit more, then it might actually mean more big shows per year. As of now, the vast majoirty of the PPVs dont really have a huge card, and the bigger shows are the Saudi ones. They will still have to have the good Saudi ones, but then with the added bonus of having to stack the 4 CBS shows with big names/fights too in a way they dont have to currently with the PPVs. And as Daz pointed out, they may have to go back into the vault to find mainstream guys to fight at theses, which has the potential for more novelty/freak fights, which has to be seen as a positive too. Paid Members wandshogun09 Posted August 11, 2025 Paid Members Posted August 11, 2025 Big Tom talking a bit about it here… Also drops in at the end there that his fight with Gane in October is probably gonna be on PPV in the UK. Think we all expected that one. Quote
Paid Members wandshogun09 Posted August 24, 2025 Paid Members Posted August 24, 2025 (edited) This is from a pro wrestling show but it involves Rampage’s son so I’m putting it here. It’s absolutely fucked up. Guess I should throw in a trigger warning here because this is legit attempted murder… There’s a clip of the ‘incident’ that apparently started all this in the replies and it’s literally just the other guy lightly hitting Rampage’s son in the head with a drink can. It’s nothing. If that’s gonna be used as some kind of defence then it’s not gonna cut it. At all. Getting hit with a ‘working strike’ off a can in no way justifies a reaction where you later slam the guy’s into the canvas and punch his already unconscious head full force about 20 times and have to be forcibly dragged off him. There were reports that the guy “hadn’t moved” for ages after but then Rampage put out this pathetic statement basically excusing his cunt of a son’s behaviour and says the other guy is “awake and stable”. I guess that’s OK then. Says his main concern is the guy’s recovery but makes sure to keep throwing attempted justifications and excuses for his son in there every other sentence. This was attempted murder shit. On camera. And clearly premeditated because the thing with the can that supposedly ‘provoked’ this was earlier in the day so he’d obviously planned this and knew exactly what he was gonna do. He’s fucked his life and possibly someone else’s up if the guy doesn’t make a full recovery. Edited August 24, 2025 by wandshogun09 Quote
Paid Members Egg Shen Posted August 24, 2025 Paid Members Posted August 24, 2025 That is seriously fucked up. Why did the Psycho Stu guy hit him with the drink in worked fashion in the other video? Im assuming they were trying to do some kind of angle but it looks like its backstage away from any fans. Oh, and that ref should have jumped in and try to put a stop to that. I know he was probably in shock at what was going on in the moment, but to continue to play "work ref" when someone is literally having their face punched in is not a good look. Quote

I mean I don't necessarily disagree, but 'ref' in low-rent wrestling isn't the same as 'ref' in an MMA fight. That ref is probably a performer with zero interest in physicality, or could have frozen with fear or whatever. It took a long time, but I'm glad the other performers cottoned on and did something as I'm not sure he'd have stopped. Quote
Paid Members Egg Shen Posted August 24, 2025 Paid Members Posted August 24, 2025 (edited) Yeah I get that and like I said, it happens quickly, but still you think he'd jump in and try pulling the guy off, he didnt even signal for help, he just carried on being a wrestling referee. I think the confusion was because there were cameras there so that Stu guy probably thought they were filming something as part of the show. There’s another clip of him apologising and saying he thought he was working with him and Rampage’s son actually shakes hands with him and they seem to have squashed it and agreed it was just a silly misunderstanding. That makes it even worse for me. Proper cowardly snakey shit to then try to kill the guy later on during the show when he’s trusting you with his body. Fucking vile. And over something so stupid. The one good thing about everyone filming everything now is a case like this is gonna be easy to get to the bottom of in court because it’s all there on camera. From the initial interaction which somehow triggered it to them shaking hands to the prick then trying to end the man’s life in the ring. Hope they absolutely throw the book at him. Zero justification whatsoever for what he’s done there. Scum. Quote
NeverYield Posted August 24, 2025 Posted August 24, 2025 (edited) What a fucking cowardly act and a stupid act aswell and I like Rampage usually but he's talking absolute shit in that post, the pair of them should be embarrassed. Finally that fella was saved by a few people with a bit about them cos the ref and the other wrestler had nothing, was just gonna let him get continuously battered. What a shitshow. Talking about concussion in sparring what a div, soured me on Rampage that dumb post has. Edited August 24, 2025 by NeverYield Quote
Paid Members Egg Shen Posted August 24, 2025 Paid Members Posted August 24, 2025 There's the apology video. Seeing that just makes the attack even more sickening. This guy has issues. Quote
Paid Members Carbomb Posted August 24, 2025 Paid Members Posted August 24, 2025 I've never liked Rampage. Just comes across as your typical entitled college frat-boy jock douchebag. That his boy has turned out to be a shit doesn't surprise me. Quote
Merzbow Posted August 24, 2025 Posted August 24, 2025 Meltzer was right, the worst thing I've ever seen in a wrestling ring. There's no defending it either way but the fact the guy apologised and tried making it right only for the kid to still do that? Quote
Paid Members wandshogun09 Posted August 24, 2025 Paid Members Posted August 24, 2025 No surprises that there are dickheads who are actually defending this shit. And calling people “pussies” and stuff for condemning it. I’m convinced these are nerds who’ve never thrown or received a punch in their lives who think this is some ‘gangsta’ or badass thing to admire. Absolutely pathetic. The ironic thing is in that video of him after the incident he’s going “I’m not no bitch”. Yet this attack was the bitch move of all bitch moves. Could’ve done something when the initial bullshit with the can happened, it still would’ve been a massive overreaction but whatever. Instead he decides to pretend he’s over it and they’re cool and it’s not an issue, then goes out there when the other guy is giving him his body and does that? There’s nothing tough about that, pure cowardice. Quote

Even for the standards back then, they knew said footage would cause offence. He's always been a bit of a prick. Edited August 24, 2025 by jimufctna24 Quote
NeverYield Posted August 24, 2025 Posted August 24, 2025 He does not look much cop at all as a legitimate MMA fighter and doesn't have the temperament and composure to truly make something of himself. That whole video screamed 'I think I'm him', but really projected the weak man he is with a fragile ego. He hasn't got the brains he was born with, complete muppet, Quote
