Rossman
Barcelona start their new season tomorrow and they are in a unique situation, on & off the pitch. They've trimmed off their oldest players, high earners who are still valuable assets to the club for next to no money. For Vidal, Rakitic & Suarez. Combined they got £1.5m (TransferMarkt has their combined market value of over £50m). Even worse, Rakitic has gone back to Sevilla and will probably fill in for the departing Banega. Worse than that, Suarez has joined rivals Atletico. 33 and he still got 18 goals in 26 games last season in La Liga. With Simeone, Costa & now Suarez that's some 3-headed monster of shit-arsery coming at you. Right back, Sergi Roberto will have a long season as he's the only designated right-back for Barcelona now Semedo has gone to Wolves. Strikers, you've got Griezmann & Braithwaite. Obviously Messi operates as a 2nd striker floating in, as does Fati & Dembele. So they will still rely a lot on Messi for goals, that's if he's not on auto-pilot and has one eye on the door already. Ter Stegen will also miss the first month, as he's out with a knee injury. Then you've got Ronald Koeman coming in and how long it will take for the players to adapt to his style of play. His attacking philosophies and tactical formations look promising with him reinventing the Netherlands team. He can deploy their usual 4-3-3 but he's also trying to bed in his 4-2-3-1. It will difficult season for Barcelona, if they don't recruit a decent right-back and another recognised striker. If Griezmann is injured or needs resting, who can they bring on?! I think Real Madrid will win the league, then Barcelona & Atletico will have a close run for 2nd. Atletico started poorly last season and had a lot of draws but they didn't lose for the final 16 games of the season. With Suarez now in attack, hopefully they can turn those draws into wins.

Paid Members tiger_rick Posted October 2, 2020 Paid Members Share Posted October 2, 2020 (edited) I noticed that on FlashScores. Milan equalised in the 121st minute with a penalty to take it to penalties. Then Rio Ave had three chances to win it in sudden death and missed them all, before Milan won in the 12th round of pens. Edit: Rio Ave #5 with a Penenka at 4-5 down in the shoot out has some fucking massive balls. Edited October 2, 2020 by tiger_rick

I was willing the Milan player after him to also do a panenka, so that the whole thing was then just panenkas until someone lost their nerve and decided to just blast one. Someone on Twitter mentioned the lovely late 80s/early 90s Stamford Bridge vibe with the cars behind the goal as well. Just good shit all round. Paid Members bAzTNM#1 Posted October 26, 2020 Paid Members Share Posted October 26, 2020 Dutch League is always like that. Somebody is always getting humped. Not 13-0 done, but still done over.
