Conor showed the same fighting spirit that Bas Rutten showed against Kevin Randleman all those years ago. I'll just about give Khabib round 2, based on that lucky knockdown he scored. Round 3 was a clear McGregor round. I think McGregor would have won the final round had he survived Khabib's 4th round onslaught and grinded out a narrow decision win. Julie Lederman over here ?

Paid Members WeeAl Posted October 23, 2020 Paid Members Posted October 23, 2020 The only round I would have given McGregor was round 3, and even then I only believe he won that round because I get the feeling Khabib took it as a round off.
DJM Posted November 2, 2020 Posted November 2, 2020 Latest from McGregor on Khabib; kinda praising Khabib, while still saying he could beat him in a second fight.
David Posted November 3, 2020 Posted November 3, 2020 I expect nothing else of him. If he didn't think he could right the wrongs of the first fight against the champion in his division he's got no place in the sport in all honesty.
kamicazze Posted November 3, 2020 Posted November 3, 2020 Of course he believes it. If the Conor of the Aldo fight and prior turns up he has one chance, and thats if he lands big in round 1. Conor fades in fights though is incredibly dangerous in the early rounds. Khabib hasn't been rocked so has never shown vulnerabilities to suggest it could happen. It doesn't mean it's impossible as some of the greatest chins have still gone down in a heap. Conor wanted to be an ATG, he is an all time great though someone in his times proven to be better. His only way of now separating himself from the pack is to be a triple weight champ where we all see he isn't big enough for Welter or he avenges the Khabib loss. Unfortunately neither are likely.

That was five years ago, man. That version of Conor is gone. To put some perspective on how long ago we're talking, seven days after Conor fought Aldo, Francis Ngannou made his debut kicking off the FightPass segment of the show. Nate Marquardt featured on the prelims against CB Dolloway. It's ancient history.
Paid Members wandshogun09 Posted November 3, 2020 Paid Members Posted November 3, 2020 That was also McGregor at Featherweight. I’ve always thought his ‘massive power’ is a bit over-exaggerated but his punches definitely had more venom in them at 145 where he was bigger than pretty much everyone in the division. He can still do damage at 155 but I don’t think it’ll ever be as effective as it was at 145. And certainly not at 170. People forget when they talk about Conor at 170, the only wins he has at that weight are against Diaz and Cerrone who were Lightweights for the bulk of their careers as well. I’ve got serious doubts his striking would be as effective against a consistent long term Welterweight like Usman, Masvidal or whoever. Conor simply wasn’t beating Khabib. Ever. It could’ve happened. Just like I could win the EuroMillions tonight. But he had no more than a puncher’s chance and Khabib was not only a nightmare style-wise for him, he also seems to have a solid chin on him so that chance was very slim. Khabib’s basically what you would get if you designed McGregor kryptonite. Even the puncher’s chance thing, how often do you see McGregor put someone out with one shot? Even the Eddie Alvarez fight, impressive as it was, was an accumulation of punches that was enhanced by Eddie’s own aggression and willingness to stand and trade. It was a perfect display from Conor but Conor’s finishes pretty much always come from flurries and Khabib was never going to fight in a way where Conor would have the opportunity to land flurries of punches like that because by the time he’d land his first punch of the combination, Khabib’s already changing levels and taking him down. Or McGregor wouldn’t want to even attempt a long combination because he was always anticipating having to defend the takedown. Khabib was and is McGregor’s boogeyman for life. 2 hours ago, kamicazze said: His only way of now separating himself from the pack is to be a triple weight champ where we all see he isn't big enough for Welter or he avenges the Khabib loss. Unfortunately neither are likely. I don’t think that’s unfortunate at all myself. I don’t want him to become a triple weight champ anyway and thankfully he won’t. Fuck him. Makes me laugh how happy he seems in that Q&A thing he was doing on Twitter. Now Khabib’s gone he actually has a chance of getting the gold again. The monster has gone from under his bed and he can sleep again.
Paid Members Egg Shen Posted November 10, 2020 Paid Members Posted November 10, 2020 guess we all already knew but now its confirmed...
David Posted December 15, 2020 Posted December 15, 2020 I never thought the day would come where I could potentially watch a Conor McGregor fight of any kind and root for the guy. I was wrong...
Paid Members Carbomb Posted December 15, 2020 Paid Members Posted December 15, 2020 I wouldn't watch any match between the two, to be honest. The Paul brothers are fucking turds, but thus far they've not revealed themselves to be potential rapists who punch old men in pubs. But I do hate them. Fair fucks to Jake Paul, though - he clearly knows he pisses people off and has done a good job of shite-talking there. And he probably knows McG would murder him in a boxing or MMA match.
Paid Members wandshogun09 Posted December 15, 2020 Paid Members Posted December 15, 2020 The funniest thing about it is MMA/McGregor fans are outraged by his comments and are showing that by tweeting and retweeting what he’s saying. Which is of course, exactly what he wants. I’m not arsed with these Paul twats at all myself. Got no interest in it and I don’t get it. But I don’t think they’re meant to appeal to people in their mid 30s anyway. I understand they’ve got a huge following but even then I don’t know why so many people give a bollocks about them. But it doesn’t bother me either. It’s not ‘ruining’ Boxing like some divs say. If I want to watch Boxing there’s plenty of the stuff I like about. I mean, take this week. Golovkin fights Friday, then it’s Canelo vs Smith on Saturday. Is this Paul twat the same Paul twat who’s fighting Mayweather or is that his brother?
David Posted December 15, 2020 Posted December 15, 2020 The reason I'd be rooting for McG against this fanny in any combat confrontation is simply because the very notion of an MMA fighter being beaten by a YouTube guy isn't worth thinking about. I've just about cleared the woods as far as my mates who think UFC is fixed, and I don't need that kind of grief in my life.

David Posted December 15, 2020 Posted December 15, 2020 54 minutes ago, neil said: Wait...what? Yeah, I know. I think they believe it's a cross between pro wrestling and boxing. They see some of the shenanigans and think its fixed, such as the last McGregor fight with Cowboy. They didn't think that was a legit finish and that Cerrone took a dive. If McGregor did ever fight this YouTube guy, and lost? They'd claim it was fixed.
