patiirc
Not sure if this thread is legit or is to do with ages of posters as many of the stars mentioned are/were massively well known. Alice Cooper, Poison/Schools out etc etc... Pee Wee Herman was a pretty big deal until he got caught wanking at a Porn theater, and only started his career redemption with Mystery Men etc, heck even Drew Carey is familiar for Whoose Line fans and so on.. Â The ones i struggled with were Robert Goulet, and the guy taking the piss out of the Bolsheviks during WM6, Â Steve Allen?
Pier Six Brawler
Sy Sterling, Hair Club for men. A lot of the American TV presenter types really weren't known over here back in the day, GEnnifer Flowers and that Barbara Walters woman.
Paid Members Sergio Mendacious Posted April 29, 2015 Paid Members Share Posted April 29, 2015 Sy Sperling - I only knew him because I researched a funny skit from Amazon Women on the Moon. Â I've seen Pee Wee Herman live - no, not wanking. Â Pat - Steve Allen is ironic, that's what he is.

Paid Members Kaz Hayashi Posted April 29, 2015 Paid Members Share Posted April 29, 2015 Mathew Taylor Thomas from Home Improvement. I remember being jealous that some other kid was backstage at WM. Although i have heard of the show (after WM), i still have no idea what he is and can't be arsed to find out.

Paid Members Carbomb Posted April 30, 2015 Paid Members Share Posted April 30, 2015 Â I'd never heard of Ryan Seacrest, Maria Menounos, Snooki, or that movie actor whose name completely eludes me right now - can't even remember what he was in. Think his surname began with a P. Â Jeremy Piven? The SummerFest guy? He's best known for his role in Entourage but he was also Mr Selfridge in the ITV drama of the same name and was on the supporting casts of both Ellen and the Larry Sanders Show back in the 90s. Had a decent career spanning two decades has Piven. Â Â That's the guy. Now that you've mentioned his roles, it makes sense why I'd never heard of him - I've never seen any of those programmes (I know I need to see Entourage, but I'm backlogged with pretty much everything else right now). Â When it comes to certain celebrities, I seem to have "danced between the raindrops", so to speak - Bradley Cooper's rise to fame pretty much passed me by until he voiced Rocket Raccoon, because I've somehow managed not to see anything he's in. Same with Jennifer Lawrence and Zach Galifianakis.
Paid Members bAzTNM#1 Posted April 30, 2015 Paid Members Share Posted April 30, 2015 Old grandmother who kept on saying "Where's the beef?" at Wrestlemania 2 was a bit odd. Â Cracking Morton Downey Jr. documentary was on Netflix a few months ago. Might have been the US version. Career hit the skids around 1990 when he claimed Neo-Nazis jumped him in an airport toilet and scribbled swastikas all over him and shaved his head. Story was found to have been made up and Downey admitted he done it himself.
Paid Members Bellenda Carlisle Posted April 30, 2015 Paid Members Share Posted April 30, 2015 I've seen Pee Wee Herman live - no, not wanking. Â You lucky bastard, I would've killed to go to his show. Â Got to echo what a couple of guys have said about being surprised by the lack of pop culture knowledge, the only people I didn't know beforehand were a few of the sports guys and some of the terrible unknown nu-metal bands they've had doing songs for them. Pier Six Brawler
WrestleMania 2 had some ridiculous celebrity guests. "Herb" some Burger King charcter, Joan Rivers, G. Gordon Liddy (Richard Nixon's henchman and a main man behind the Watergate scandal), Jazzman Cab Calloway, TV's "Cannon" Robert Conrad, Smokin' Joe Frazier, the "Where's the Beef" woman, Elvira, Mistress of the Night, future star of NYPD Blue Ricky Schroder, and that's not even a full list, you had all the NFL players in the battle royal that year as well. I think they clearly realised it was overdoing it because WM3 only had Aretha Franklin and Bob Eucker, and both were used well.
