Looking forward to trying it out. Reviews compare it favorably to Dominion, which I really enjoy. In a similar aesthetic, has anyone here played Race for the Galaxy? It was quite difficult to go back to vanilla Pandemic after months of Legacy. But bless it the game played itself out in the most perfect way: after much debate we'd figured out with 4 turns to go (player card deck dwindling) we couldn't cure the fourth disease. We decided to play through. Wouldn't you know it the perfect card turns up allowing us to cure it on the penultimate turn! A few points: 1) thanks for the recommendation; it's tremendous fun. 2) The Cutter is ridiculously overpowered. The Federation lifegain archetype seems very powerful. 3) we're using a life counter app on my phone that I have for playing Magic the Gathering to keep track of authority points and it's a lot better than fucking around with the cards for that. I use the Carcassonne score counter (pen and paper would work fine). Cutter is great VFM, but Blobs are unstoppable en masse. Playing some Star Realms tonight actually.
