One man tag-team champions Matt Morgan was one of my favourite things in wrestling while it lasted. I still think he has potential, TNA's just not the right place to live up to it. He has been shit most times I've seen him the last couple of years, but he had the ball dropped so much on him from 2008 through 2010, when he was looking like a star at points, that it's hard to blame him for not giving a fuck. I hope WWE give him another shot.

Given who they've been using there of late, Morgan surely has a spot in the upper reaches of the NJPW roster waiting for him?

On another TNA subject, I thought Robbie E & Jessie Godderz (whose name they surely need to contract to Jessie G, now?) looked great as a team, and it makes more sense having them together than having two blokes knocking about separately with effectively the same gimmick, but surely they've missed a trick by not calling them True Bro-mans?

I'm just pissed off because Matt Morgan should have been awesome. I don't know if it's laziness on his part or what, but he's such a fucking waste.

My understanding is MM is very persuasive at the "passion and desire" speeches, but a second later can flick a switch to being a naughty schoolboy. As such he can get himself over with a broad spectrum of the companies he works for.

The problem is he can't convince fhe fans that he is any good. Like others such as Heidenreich the world would have been their oyster if they were around 12 years earlier.

Hulk Hogan and Sting must be bummed out about this release. They both really liked Morgan, especially Hogan who LOVED him. Reportedly, Bischoff was high on him too. It really says something about Matt Morgan to have supporters in such high places and still not end up being a top guy. That takes some doing.

Anyway, with Morgan about to be a father for the first time it makes a lot of financial sense for him to leave TNA and try his chances over at WWE. I reckon they've already expressed an interest in signing him, otherwise it makes no sense for Morgan to be walking away from a steady gig at TNA.

That doesn't look too bad, does it? Be nice to see Homicide again, I'm presuming no Konnan though. Also, Judas Mesias never really got a full shake of the stick the first time round, wonder how he'll be this time?

Yeah, I watched it the other night because it had Bob Holly on it but it was really shite. Didn't help that people turned up in their jeans or B-level outfits looking like they couldnt be arsed. TNA didn't even bother to sweeten the crowd. Its worth watching just for the silence throughout the night.

There is one spot in the ladder match where it looks like one of them gets killed. Brutal spot. Mike Tenay said something like "there are bodies everywhere" in a monotone voice, completely ignoring the spot. How is he still employed?

I really, really hope Matt Morgan stays gone. It's the turn of the WWE fans to have to sit through his interminable matches and promos. I know that technically he's not the worst wrestler of all time, but in terms of potential v outcome he has to be up there.

With these cuts, TNA might need to bring back some of those names for one off apperances etc in the near future.

That does appear to be the model they're moving towards, in some areas. Whittling it down to a smallish core group who are signed to contracts, but occasionally mixing it up by bringing in guys on (presumably?) per appearance deals. The X-Division in particular has had this of late, with the likes of Dutt & Williams turning up every now & again.

Assuming it's cheaper to do it that way, it might actually be a really good model for TNA to adopt. The fanbase is fairly "hardcore", so they tend to remember guys well, meaning the likes of Dutt & Williams still have some name value to them, and it's actually more effective to bring them in sporadically so people don't get sick of them. You're running the risk of losing them to WWE, sure, but I would imagine the chances are pretty small.

You weren't kidding. I've had it on in the background for the last 20 minutes and it's as if they're wrestling in an empty building. Doesn't help that they're wheeling out guys like Johnny Swinger either.
