Hasn't this essentially already happened. The "Woken" character is basically the same persona.

I suspect Jeff will be kept well clear of this so they can get a proper singles run out of him down the road.

What's that Great War hashtag about? Or do they just mean that they're not going to get any heat about the Woken character and its "similarities" to the Broken character?

From my understanding Jazzy, TNA agreed to allow (to paraphrase) workers to use gimmicks after leaving the company as long as they weren't straight copies. Hence Woken rather than Broken.

I don't think there's any issue with him continuing to use 'broken' but as with most things in the WWE over the years, there's an insistence that at least some aspects need to be changed so they can claim it as their own. A bit Road Warriors/LOD if you will.

Yeah, true. I guess for trademarking etc., WWE are using "Woken" Matt Hardy.

Similar to, but legally distinct from etc.
