I dont think people like Nash are who they are looking for anyway by the looks of it. Luke Gallows looks a dead cert to be in the MEM for example, after all those loses and burials they gave him. As himself Nash said about the Aces and 8s a few months ago "story line is getting weak by adding sub mid card players, history always repeats itself."

Agree with the point Ian made earlier in the thread about the impact arenas getting smaller. Not sure how these tapings are costing $500k each, but watching last night's episode on Sky+ now and it's not looking that much bigger than the old Impact Zone.

A wrestling television broadcast is incredibly expensive. That's why the WWF used to tape multiple shows in one night, and still does on occasion. The production staff and equipment don't come cheap, then there's the costs for every wrestling event like talent wages and venue hire on top of that. Has TNA ever run a house show that didn't make a loss? According to Meltzer, the WWF and WCW were both losing money on near enough every domestic house show in the early nineties.

Does anyone know what USA pays WWE for Raw? It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia costs FX around $2 million per episode, which is standard for a half-hour cable sitcom apparently. Three hours of highly-rated first-run programming every Monday night won't come cheap.

About $1,999,999.99 too much.

If they're going for the "idiots with no sense of humour" market. Otherwise, two mil is about right.

Trailer Park Boys: The Movie cost $5 million to make. It's four times as long as an episode of that and 34 times funnier. Plus half that budget went on rum and coke. Value for money!

I can't remember the sort of figure bandied about but it wasn't much because WWE gets to sell the ad time during the commercial breaks, which is why they're so sensitive about offending the ad-men.

House show revenue has taken a massive hit since Don West left. He was a mix of TV personality (people knew him from Impact) and an actual expert of how to sell you merch, because he'd done it for years on shopping channels. He used to go on the road, stand there cut promos and almost force the merch into your bag. When the Hall of Fame started last year there was genuine debate that he should go in first, because he was the biggest draw TNA has ever had. Because at house shows, there would be money in the till no matter have small the crowds were. Not WWE money, but merch was really healthy. West leaving has been a big loss for them.

He's another who tore TNA up on twitter recently for sending him a laughable royalty cheque.

Is that a new deal? When they first went back to USA in 2005, WWE was definitely not getting any ad revenue, which was different to the previous deals they'd had with USA and TNN. That's why Vince started broadcasting on WWE.com during the breaks, so he could sell ads on there or just annoy the network, which worked and USA kicked up a stink and made him stop. WWE does the same thing on the app now, but it's fine because second-screen experiences are all the rage. I didn't know they'd renegotiated, but it makes sense that they would have at some point in the last eight years.

The gate for Slammiversary which was a legit 3,000 was $146,000. If TNA are spending $500,000 on a set of tapings where you have to paper the building to get about 2000 in there, they must be on course to be in for a heavy loss in 2013. This is a massive gamble they are taking. Surely there are cheaper ways than to pay massive rent on a large arena and do the same house as you would for the Manhattan Centre.
