Would be a pretty big deal if he turned up at NXT tonight.  Doubt it would happen ever, but I think it'd be a good idea to sign him, even if they know he'll only ever be in NXT.  Once Neville, Balor, Zayn, Itami and Owens get called up they're going to need more guys like that on the shows.  Triple H did say he wants NXT to get to the point where established names will join NXT to be in NXT, not to be in WWE.  This would be a good start.

Indeed, although (and not saying I think this will happen at all) it would be a shame if he showed up on an episode that isn't going to air for another month.  Although NXT spoilers are pretty easy to avoid if you want to, I think something like that happening would be harder to avoid, and the impact of it happening would lose its buzz after that long.  Usually when they do tapings the first episode airs the next week.  I think this might be only the 2nd time they've done a set of tapings when there's still multiple weeks already recorded.

Grado's got himself into a spot of bother with madge's (Madonna) people about the use of "like a prayer" on the next episode of impact.

This might fall on its arse, but its worth a go... As most of you know, for entrance music I use a version of 'Like A Prayer' originally recorded by Madonna. TNA wrestling had managed to negotiate with several important publishers to get the rights for the song, and this Friday on American telly I was getting the go-ahead for my match with Al Snow from The Hydro to be shown in full, with the 'Like A Prayer' entrance - I was over the moon!! Until today, we received an e-mail saying "Please be advised that the request below for the use of 'Like A Prayer' has been denied on behalf of Madonna " Now I get the feeling there is no way, she herself was on the blower talking about some daft Scottish wrestler about using her choon on the tv, which is why I want to try and reach out to her Madge herself and to let her know how much the song means to myself and the wrestling world! I never want to use any other theme music, or some dubbed shite, there is no better feeling than a big rowdy crowd going bush to this song. I want her to watch this wee video and hopefully she can tell the folk representing her to let me use it! So I'm looking for anyone who likes my page or follows me on Twitter to give her a shout and show her this vid and see if we can persuade her! #SayYesMadonna

Well. That's going to look rubbish. I think I read somewhere once WWE couldn't get the rights for Metallica's Enter Sandman for The Sandman's entrance, but somehow were able to have Motörhead's cover which is odd, don't you think?

The only time WWE ever had any use of either version was Sandy coming out to the 'tallica version at One Night Stand. You are probably getting mixed up because ECW used the Lemmy/Zebrahead version on Extreme Music, just as they used Kilgore's version of Walk instead of the Pantera original.

Ah, that explains it. Thanks for that!

WWE would have got the rights to Enter Sandman if it was worth the investment. There's no way on earth they were paying for the rights to a song that iconic for a wrestler on the C-show. The likes of Metallica are WrestleMania entrances. Not for the Sandman hitting the Big Oily Guy on SyFy. Sandman was little more than a mascot for ECW at the time.

Wwe got royally fucked by metallica when using enter sandman from my memory. It was said by someone in a shoot or podcast. Can't remember who but in 97 ish metalluca who were looking to promote a new album offered to play summerslam for free . Vince didn't know who they were and blew them off.

Forward some time and hey man insists they use enter sandman for ons so metallica ram the price up costing Vince a fuck ton of money.

I'm not sure how true it is as st anger was the summerslam song a few years before (unless that was the requested performance time) but that might have been a record company thing.

In the same way that the use of Enter Sandman was a big record company thing. Warner Music Group (who own Elektra, the label that put out The Black Album) were the ones demanding the high price (rumoured at the time to be $1million for 12 months use) not the band themselves

I asked this on the NXT thread just now. He's based in central Florida so it's worth a look by the WWE for sure. I can see him showing up in Ring of Honour for some dates which I would love to see.
