Every year me and the wife make a Christmas dinner for friends a few days before Christmas and make a bit of a day of it. Had so many veggies left over I’ve eaten my own weight in bubble and squeak over the last couple of days.

As a rule of thumb, if you can get it at a carvery it's fine on a roast. Most ones I've been to have sweetcorn so that's a thumbs up from me. Plus sweetcorn enhances everything so belongs on any dish really.

Did you watch the same Gary Eats video..? It's not something I'd heard of until he had it a couple of days ago.

Nah, have done it for years (English mustard mash too). But I bloody love Gary Eats and this does nothing to change that opinion.
