CAREBEAR LUVVA
Cheers for that. Long enough for a poo and something to eat then. That's sort of what I was wondering about! Â In case anyone's tempted to install both discs, Rockstar have recommended only installing one. Whichever one's labelled "installation disc". Sounds like installing both might cause problems. Moderators Astro Hollywood Posted September 16, 2013 Author Moderators Share Posted September 16, 2013 Ugh, so now I've got to listen to the fucking jet-engine disc drive and fan roaring as I play?
Paid Members Maverick Posted September 16, 2013 Paid Members Share Posted September 16, 2013 I don't know how it differs from machine to machine but I don't have it installed and it barely makes a peep. Huge difference compared to something like Fifa

windoesnot
So how is everyone planning to play the game? Â I'll be doing my usual thing with sandbox games and ignoring the main story lines and just explore and mess around in the world itself. Then after that ill get on with the game proper and do as much of the side stuff as possible. It's the only game I plan to really play until the PS4 launch. Â . Not looked forward to a new game this much since Skyrim. The online modes when released also look amazing fun. Â Also, there is a companion app available for the game: Â http://uk.ign.com/articles/2013/09/16/gran...on-app-revealed Edited September 16, 2013 by windoesnot
The King Of Swing
I'll probably play the story taking breaks here and there to piss about or if something catches my eye which is pretty much how I played RDR.
Slapnut
Anybody work for Argos? I have a money off voucher so I think I'm going to try and pick my copy up from my local store. Are they expecting to sell out quickly? Or is that a pretty unanswerable question? Also, are we able to place a reservation like any other item? zep81
http://www.gamepolitics.com/2013/09/16/roc...sc#.UjdA5j-6-1s  Rockstar Games is warning consumers who buy the Xbox 360 version of Grand Theft Auto V (officially releasing at retail tomorrow for Xbox 360 and PS3 tomorrow) not to install the second disc marked "Play Disc." Apparently installing this disc to your hard drive will cause significant issues with how the game performs. The game comes on two discs: an "Install disc" and a "Play disc." The Install Disc is meant to be installed to your hard drive and takes up around 7.7 GB. The second disc can also be installed and will take up an additional 7.8 GB of HD space.  But apparently installing that second disc causes problems with the game's ability to stream texture data, which results in regular pop-in of in-game objects and textures. Inserting the disc and using it during play is apparently the way you are supposed to play the game. Below is a more detailed account of the problem from Eurogamer sister publication Digital Foundry:  "So what's the story here? Well, optimal streaming is achieved by making us of all the available bandwidth in the system. Why stream just from the hard drive when you can run in data simultaneously from both the disc and the HDD? Based on what we're seeing on the Xbox 360 version, perhaps running both DVD and HDD assets from just the one source slows down access times, impacting streaming performance. It's not game-breaking stuff, but it does take you out of the moment when it does manifest and for that reason we can't recommend installing the play disc."  Digital Foundry goes on to say that a digital download of the game is not available on Xbox 360 but is available on PlayStation Network. While the site isn't sure yet, it could be that this problem plagues PSN users who put the entire game on their hard drives. We'll have to wait and see. Stay tuned. Merzbow
Â Get your USB sticks ready, installing the play disc to one may just stop that awful pop-in.
Ghostface1982
Xbox owners, take note : Don't install the Play disc I have both disks installed and have only seen one graphical ballsup involving a bus and its wheels not spawning. I'll take that over my very loud drive any day. Edited September 16, 2013 by Ghostface1982
