One advantage of having a horrendous shitting virus is that I watched the first game of the World Series this morning instead of going to work.

And what a game it was. Juan Soto is phenomenal; as good if not better than Devers and Torres and two years younger! Nats winning vs Cole definitely is what the series needed, makes it properly interesting.

I find it very hard to pick a winner in the NLCS, though I'll be rooting for the Nats. In small part it's because I love the Mad Max, Strasburg, Corbin 1-2-3 punch, but mostly it's because them reaching the World Series immediately after Harper has gone would make me laugh.

And lo, it came to pass. Fuck Bryce Harper!  What an amazing World Series that was!

Delighted that Mad Max gets his ring and Strasburg in this series was the pitcher we all hoped he would be for so long. Good to get an NL winner too.

Four long and painful months until Spring Training begins. From a Red Sox perspective, almost certainly one where we see one or both of Betts and Martinez leave.

Another winter with me hoping the Tigers aren't a complete and utter shit show but knowing deep down that they absolutely will be.

It's been getting panned over in the US & Canada, with viewership of the series setting a record low in TV numbers. The final game gave it a bit of a bump, but in general no one outside Washington or Houston gave a toss it seems.

Considering the Nationals are a newish franchise and historically Houston haven't been powerhouses either, I'm not surprised. Still doesn't detract from the fact it was a bloody marvelous series. Red Sox vs Dodgers last year had the names, but this World Series pissed all over it from an entertainment standpoint.

Get Big Dick Davey Dombrowski back in!

Baseball is one of those sports here in North America that seems to have fans who only follow their own team. Where a Monday night football game will draw viewers of all teams, that doesn't happen in baseball.

I must admit, once the Blue Jays played their final game of the season I didn't watch another game in its entirety, just watching highlights on Sportscenter or whatever.

Davey Dombrowski is why we are in the state we are. Another 3-4 years before draft picks start to come through and we start to get competitive I fear.

You know what you get with Wheelin' Dealin' Dave. You have a three year window to win a World Series (which the Tigers really should have done given the roster) and then everything goes to shit and you end up with a AAA team pockmarked with old blokes on massive contracts. At least Boston has the ability to mitigate it a bit though money.

Yes this exactly, I don't hold anything against him. We had the strongest team for a couple of years. I mean 1 year our rotation was Verlander, Scherzer, Fister, Sanchez and Porcello. For one season there literally wasnt a injury to a starting rotation.

Oh and if that wasnt enough we also had the best hitter in the game at the time. It just shows you the importance of at least a competent bullpen.

Tigers rotation had in there rotation during the 2014 season

Justin Verlander (2017 World Champion)

Max Scherzer (2019 World Champion)

Rick Porcello (2018 World Champion)

Anibal Sanchez (2019 World Champion)

David Price (2018 World Champion)

Obviously not as simple as just saying how did these guys not win but it shows the talent they had in the rotation at that time and combined with the hitting lineup that team should of gone further then the ALDS that season and since then they've declined every season to hitting rock bottom this year.

These guys didnt win mainly because of a fucking abysmal bullpen

Somewhat predictably, the London series is off. Would've been my first Cards games in attendance since my SF holiday 6 years ago.
