Paid Members Quentin Posted April 23, 2011 Paid Members Share Posted April 23, 2011 Just seen this breaking on BBC News. He was 64. Â For my money he wrote one off, if not the best british sitcoms of all time and always seemed likable in interviews. Â Sad day : (

denzel_maggiore
Only Fools & Horses probably the greatest UK comedy of all time. Legend.

Paid Members Devon Malcolm Posted April 23, 2011 Paid Members Share Posted April 23, 2011 RIP to John Sullivan. I was surprised he was still only 64, actually, I thought he was a lot older than that. Â But let's not get carried away - Only Fools & Horses is patently not our greatest sitcom of all time, even though, at its peak, it was very good. Citizen Smith was far and away his best creation. Smeg_&_The_Heads
R.I.P John Sullivan Only Fools has been my favourite TV show since I can remember. Â I wonder if they will end Rock & Chips now as there were going to be 4 more episodes though I do think the 3rd one was pretty much wrapped up. Mr Mojo Rising
Very sad news indeed. Â I am hoping no one comes up with the bright idea of bringing back Only Fools for a tribute one off special.
patiirc
I liked Citizen Smith, Cant stand Only Fools and Horses ( someone is going to have to explain the love to me?), Green Green Grass was awful and refuse to watch Rock and Chips. Roger Roger was alright from what I remember about it as well  RIP

Paid Members Kookoocachu Posted April 23, 2011 Paid Members Share Posted April 23, 2011 Very sad news, nothing since has ever and probably will ever come close to how great Only Fools was.
Paid Members air_raid Posted April 23, 2011 Paid Members Share Posted April 23, 2011 Only Fools at its best was magical, but it went on far past that best and suffered from a lot of the later substandard resurrections/specials. To make more after you've already done the pay off of them actually becoming millionaires... people have been imprisoned for less heinous crimes. Â Citizen Smith was far and away his best creation. Â Power to the PEOPLE!!
