Documentary Thread #2

Filmed in Supermarionation is a great documentary if you were into the likes of Thunderbirds, Stingray and Captain Scarlett as a kid. Goes into a lot of detail about how they come up with the shows, has behinds the scenes footage of the productions and other titbits such as the Thunderbirds movies both being critical and commercial flops when they were released to theatres and that ITV cancelled the show to make way for another Anderson production. I think the DVD is £16.99 in HMV or you can get it on Amazon for just over £20 on bluray packaged with a second disc called This is Supermarionation that has episodes of most of the shows spotlighted in the documentary

Would love to watch Atari: Game Over - but it's only available on X-Box Live. Despite it being available on the Xbox site for free with an account, nobody can get it working in a browser, and there's no torrent!

There's 'Earthlings', which is probably the most harrowing thing I've ever watched. Over years, the filmmakers collected tons of undercover footage of what goes on in slaughterhouses, the leather industry and more. I felt ill after seeing it and it's definitely not for everyone, but a very eye-opening film indeed.

So how do you get it free? It is it in the xbox store?

Yep. And it's supposed to be free on the Xbox website too (via link I provided), but it doesn't actually play - it just buffers forever. Something to do with Microsoft restricting Silverlight permissions after they got hacked.

I watched Brother's Keeper once, and i want to watch it again but i can't put myself through seeing the pig death again, that piece of footage has haunted me.

Is that an app? Chrome is blocking me downloading it - says it's malicious.

Found and watched Breakthrough  documentary about IKB today, not seen it for years. Despite John Craven looking 12 was worth a 30 minute watch.

Now just to find the QED about the scientist who did the head transplant and The Gyles Brandreth Train thing that had the famouse London Brighton? Train run speeded up in it

Watched Knuckle again last night, as you can see from my avatar Big Joe Joyce is till the King.

YA BALDY BASTARD

There's a documentary about Joe Joyce? I simply have to see that.

It is sensational. The promo's the Joyce clan and the Quinn clan cut on each other are not of this world.

Bit grim this one. Documentary was made for schools and released in 1992. Don't know how it got out in the Public Domain. It's about people who die on the railway lines. All of the dodgy bits have been pixellated out, thankfully, by the uploader. I remember seeing this in school. I repeat, this is GRIM.
