Zebra Kid Mark Posted January 7, 2011 Posted January 7, 2011 I know there was a thread on here a while back saying how Sky had got all the rights to show HBO content but I thought I would start a fresh topic as opposed to bumping it. Â A new channel will be launched in the UK for all Sky customers showing HBO content. It is launched the 1st of February and it looks pretty epic. Â http://tv.sky.com/skyatlantic?DCMP=SkyAtlanticTeaserJan7 Â What shows are you looking forward to seeing (providing you haven't downloaded them)? Â Any of you downloaders out there feel less inclined to download and more inclined to watch on TV?
Paid Members CleetusVanDamme Posted January 7, 2011 Paid Members Posted January 7, 2011 Oz and Deadwood re-runs please!. Â Edit. The upcoming George Foreman HBO film with Ernest Miller as the lead would be nice too.
Paid Members Your Fight Site Posted January 7, 2011 Paid Members Posted January 7, 2011 What shows are you looking forward to seeing (providing you haven't downloaded them)? TNA iMPACT!
Cobra1000 Posted January 7, 2011 Posted January 7, 2011 I hate watching stuff on my laptop so hopefully seeing Treme, Game of Thrones and Boardwalk Empire on TV will be good. Also I read it is the home of HBO and Mad Men, so Sky clearly got the rights from BBC!
JoeyBlayze Posted January 7, 2011 Posted January 7, 2011 As a Virgin Media customer I can honestly say, I'm fucking gutted. I'd happily pay extra for this channel.
David Posted January 7, 2011 Posted January 7, 2011 I'm looking forward to rewatching the Sopranos, as i'm sure I missed a few episodes here & there. Â As has already been mentioned, OZ in HD would be nice.
TildeGuy~! Posted January 7, 2011 Posted January 7, 2011 I've seen the first season of Boardwalk Empire...I'd recommend it!
CAREBEAR LUVVA Posted January 7, 2011 Posted January 7, 2011 The new series of Curb Your Enthusiasm would be most welcome.
Paid Members Snake Plissken Posted January 7, 2011 Paid Members Posted January 7, 2011 Rome would be good too.
Sergio Bellend Posted January 7, 2011 Posted January 7, 2011 I can't wait for this channel to be honest. I know its barbaric in these days, but I rarely download TV programmes and tend to wait for them to come on TV, and with a lot of stuff like Lost and 24, it's not mattered with a couple of days wait. Because of that I haven't seen Boardwalk Empire or Treme yet, and those look really good. It's not all HBO stuff though, Mad Men from AMC will be shown next year from the start which is smashing, I only caught the first series of that when it was repeated last year. Apparently they might also have stuff from Showtime as well in the future. Â I remember seeing some promo stuff for the channel late last year, and it said they would be repeating the entire series' of The Wire, X Files and The Sopranos later on, but I don't think there was any mention of Oz. They've got the entire back catalogue rights, so I'd imagine it'll pop up eventually.
Awards Moderator HarmonicGenerator Posted January 7, 2011 Awards Moderator Posted January 7, 2011 Boardwalk Empire is the main draw for me, but I'd love them to show The Wire from the start. I've begun watching that multiple times, then miss one episode and it's game over, return to start.
TUFCfan Posted January 7, 2011 Posted January 7, 2011 I'm looking forward to seeing what Treme and Broadwalk Empire are like as well as the new season of Entourage. I'm also looking forward to watching season four of Weeds, which is finally going to be shown in this country, though it's funny that it's on a Sky channel as they were the ones who didn't pick it up again after showing the third season a while ago.
Paid Members JNLister Posted January 7, 2011 Paid Members Posted January 7, 2011 Was Oz shot/mastered in HD? Seems too old. Oz wasn't even in widescreen.
CAREBEAR LUVVA Posted January 7, 2011 Posted January 7, 2011 If they're showing AMC stuff I hope we get the next season of Breaking Bad. I can't fucking wait for that one.
