True Lies era Arnie turns up to provide the heroics once again in Crime Wave.

 

 

And the duo from Ikari Warriors are an obvious pair of John Rambo clones. So unofficial tie ins with Arnie and Sly's films were all over at one time.

I'll put it out there. I did not rate Turrican or Turrican 2.

I just didn't like them and my mates used to just adore these games.

 

Liked Turrican, ADORED Turrican 2. Superb.

 

I'd rather have played CJ's Elephant Antics so I could type the infy lives cheat; Hairyarseholes.

Anyone remember this? I only played this again recently. I loved the music in it:

Turrican was amazing and had the most incredible world map ever. I'll track it down.

 

 

Does anyone else remember tape magazines? Before the internet really existed, you could buy game mags that came on tape and were all digitized - articles, sound clips, screenshots, demos and the like. A really cool, though brief, scene.

That's a scene I've not even heard of, I didn't even think it was possible to have all of those things on a tape.

I do remember the tape zines, though they tended to not be all that great, the scene really came alive on the Amiga. There were tons of different discmags as they were known full of simple artwork to game demos and cool little tech demos. The tape zines were definitely a col concept, just held back by the limitations of the system, loading up anything off the main loading screen meant fast forwarding the tape to the right counter number.

Turrican 2 was an absolutely brilliant game. Which I also completed. I wasn't as keen on the first one but it was still great. Turrican 2 was quite rough around the edges but that was part of its charm.

UKFF Retro League Redux

 

 

Basically, it's a game every 2 weeks or so, all off MAME. All you need to do is put your score here. If you win, you get to pick the next game. Simples

 

I'm going on trust with these scores so whatever you say gets put in the scoring, even if not actually possible.

 

The only other caveat is that you use the game as intended, no dip changes.

 

Sharing tips tricks and strategy is encouraged. Good Luck to you all
