NeverYield Posted March 22 Posted March 22 I might give Bob Holly's book a whirl. Wrestling Bios reviewed it and the bits he read and way he described the book sounded like typical Bob Holly stuff and pretty comical so think I'm gonna give it a shot. Quote

I prefer physical books but I'm gonna buy Holly's one on Kindle in a bit, I have Regals book, you're right it is a belter, I've read through that one a couple of times. Never read Blassie or Grahams books. Quote
AnotherCrapUsername Posted March 22 Posted March 22 Bob Holly's book is surprisingly good. Brutally honest, doesn't hold back. Only criticism I have would be that he feels like he should have been pushed far harder and tries to justify it. The story about the Battle of the Billionaires and how it was supposed to be him vs Umaga surely has to be bollocks. Quote

In real life, he is HUGE! his arm was bigger than my leg Indeed! Booked a meet and greet with Bob (as the running joke in my family is that he's my brothers favourite wrestler). This would have been WM34 weekend at WrestleCon and I'd read his book, my brother hadn't. He immediately brought up his book which led to a completely unwarranted torrent of abuse towards Triple H - which was hilarious, as all we'd said was hello! Can also confirm he's huge in real life. (Also noting the book is worth a read, if you can set aside that Bob thinks he should have been WWE Champion...) Edited March 23 by marc2j Quote

theringmaster Posted March 23 Posted March 23 Am I right in thinking in Bob;s book he implies The Rock and Trish had an affair? Quote

He's talking about her getting her push based on her having a name from her fitness modelling career and then adds 'I'm sure her relationship with Rocky didn't hurt either'. As far as Holly thinking he should have been world champ and main-eventing WrestleMania, I don't think he genuinely believed that. I think he had a bigger issue putting people over who either didn't last or decided to fuck off to do something else, while he was there for fifteen years and basically just did his job (often the job) and go on with it. It's a really good book, though, because he was there for so long and experienced a lot of highs and lows and worked with a lot of notable people. Quote
Chili Posted March 23 Posted March 23 Yeah I Iiked Holly's book. He was actually quite a pleasant bloke when I worked with him when PCW brought him over but I never forgot he had the potential to be surly and scary, but he was alright. Terrible the way he beat the shit out of Matt Cappotelli though, fuck was he playing at. Quote

Surely most people in their jobs feel like they deserve better? Quote

TV Time Remaining Posted March 23 Posted March 23 I once Tweeted that I was reading Bob Hollys book whilst on holiday in Portugal. He replied wishing me a "Great Vacation". He's alright in my book (pun intended). Quote
