i'm not sure, the actual band don't really do justice to the name though, they are a generic as death metal band who don't necessarily look like a death metal band.

Does anyone here still buy cd's? i rarely buy anything new but ive made it a little hobby to go digging through charity shops and market stall for cheap cd's as they are basically given away these days. It's simple to buy them through amazon but it takes away the thrill of finding something decent amongst a bunch of Robbie Williams and Toploader albums. Picked up this badboy for a quid at the local market yesterday.

First and only proper solo album of Extreme guitairst Nuno Bettencourt. I remember being in MVC back in 1997 and choosing whether to buy this or the 2nd Presidents of the United States of America album, i could only afford 1 at that time being 15...i chose the Presidents album and never got around to buying the Nuno record. I've heard it since but it's a bit of a forgotten gem of a record. I suppose Nuno's solo album was a weird thing to appeal to a 15 year old but Extreme were the hard rock/heavy metal band of my childhood (as well as Guns n' Roses) because my dad weirdly had a copy of Pornograffitti in his car even though it's not his genre at all. Good find!

oh, and completely off topic but the new Decapitated song is fucking great...albums out tomorrow

it's moving away from their death metal roots but whilst a lot of Decapitated fans fell off the bandwagon after their tragic accident i think Decapitated mk. II have been consistently great, it's a banger.

Yep, I'm one of those prehistoric creatures that still indulges in CDs. I do actually still buy new CDs but one of my latest hobbies is scouring Amazon Marketplace for all kinds of bargains. Picked up all kinds of gems for like 2-4 quid each, some are even 1p (!) so you're basically just paying for the P+P. What's great is all of these bellends buying into the vinyl hype of the moment and flogging all of their old CDs, so I'm filling my boots.

P.S that new Decapitated track is mad. I'll admit I've not heard anything from them in a really long time but they sound more like a Metalcore band on that track. Which is perfectly fine, by the way.

it's not a dramatic shift in direction, they've been moving toward that sound ever since they came back with Carnival is Forever. It doesn't sound a lot like old Decapitated but it's still fucking great.

So much good music out at the moment it's unreal.

Fan of catchy alternative rock/punk? Check out Not Done by Bloody Knees. If this makes it to Radio 1, this will be huge. Insanely catchy melody, huge grunge chorus.

Fan of quirky emo/indie? go listen to Pity Party by Pet Library. A lovely little record from this band.

Fan of screamo/mid 90s emo? Check out The Same Stories That Never Get Old by CityCop. An incredibly raw emotional record that is packing all the punches right now.

Shout outs to new Milk Teeth, itoldyouiwouldeatyou, Employed To Serve and many more. Great time for rock music.

(oh and obviously the new Enter Shikari song. Goes without saying)

Pre-ordered the new Jamie Lenman record today. It's going to be an absolute belter if the three singles he's released so far are to go by.

Been recently loving the new records by Manchester Orchestra, Kamikazi Girls and Pet Symmetry.

Completely forgot that SikTh had released a new one too.

anyone headed to Bloodstock on the weekend? its sold out but i managed to get a weekend ticket for £100 through the Bloodstock forum, happy with that.

We're heading down but only for the Saturday this year. The lineup is solid across the whole weekend but couldn't afford it so had to pick out day and there's no way I'm missing Ghost do their first festival headline slot.

there is going to be an announcement for Bloodstock 2018 after Kreator's set. Naturally, this being Bloodstock everyone has jumped to the conclusion/hope that they're going to announce Judas Priest, which if you keep saying it you'll be right eventually...except that they won't be

You going to LenMania? Belting line up.

Humble little brag. My bro in law played seven string on Freddy Krueger by Reuben as none of the lads could! Ended up meeting and hanging out with them a few times at festivals, and they were lovely lads.

agreed Manchester Orchestra new album is lovely stuff, and liking Pet Symmetry too.

I'm not unfortunately. I'm crossing my fingers for tickets to the acoustic show at St. Pancreas Church in October though.

They are all lovely lads. Met them a bunch of times over the years of going to Reuben shows. I hung out with Jamie at a pub in London once about 10 years ago when I went to see him play drums in his other band, Caretaker, that he was in as well at the time. One of the funniest guys I've ever met.

nostalgia alert!

Hell is for Heroes are doing a 15th Year Anniversary tour of Neon Handshake.

A and Vex Red supporting, what year is this?

I'm definitely going to Bristol for this, i like all 3 bands and Neon Handshake holds up to this day, an absolute belter of an album. I actually saw them play Neon Ballroom in full when they reformed to play the Hundred Reasons 'Ideas Above Our Station' tour in 2012, thought they blew Hundred Reasons away that night.

I know you get some fans that grumble about reformations and all that stuff but i love it, the internet/social media is allowing all this stuff to happen, great time to be a music fan.
