Paid Members Au Posted April 2, 2007 Paid Members Share Posted April 2, 2007 My songs for the weekend: Â Saturday: Mindless Self Indulgence 'Bitches' Â Probably their catchiest song, I get it stuck in my head all the time. Got played on Saturday night inciting a lot of very drunken dancing... Â Sunday: Portishead 'Mysterons' Â A day of hangovers and laying in bed with the lady listening to pleasant music. Â Today: Comeback Kid 'Broadcasting...' Â The title track from what has been my album of choice for the last few weeks. One of the best hardcore albums I've heard in a while but it doesn't seem like many people have heard of them.

Paid Members Au Posted April 3, 2007 Paid Members Share Posted April 3, 2007 The title track from what has been my album of choice for the last few weeks. One of the best ######## albums I've heard in a while but it doesn't seem like many people have heard of them.An amazing band if ever there was. Do you find the new singer sounds exactly like the old one though? They're very similar but not quite the same. I'd say Neufeld's got slightly more bass in his voice and a slighting rougher edge. He's the singer of Figure Four, the main band that Comeback Kid were supposed to be the side project of, so it's not overly surprising that their original singer sounded quite a lot like him.As a side note, the original video for Wake The Dead, with all the zombies, is possibly one of the best things I've ever seen.Out of interest, why did your censor the word "hardcore"?That's put me in the mood for more beatdown hardcore so here's my song for today:Agnostic Front 'Gotta Go'
Parkamarka
Any fans of Spoon here? I really like this track, off Girls Can Tell. It's short and sparse, with really simple repeating keyboard line with a little bit of guitar riffing over the top. And handclaps. Thank God for handclaps. Mr. Seven
Good tune Parka. I've heard of Spoon but that's the first thing I've heard. The singer reminds me of someone, but I can't quite place who.  Flogging Molly - If I Ever Leave This World Alive  One of the most feelgood songs ever. For me anyways. bAzTNM Fan
I don't care if they are the most well-known band posted yet in this thread: the opening of this song still gives me chills, 12 years after hearing it for the first time. Moderators Chest Rockwell Posted April 4, 2007 Moderators Share Posted April 4, 2007 Just catching up on the last few days worth of uploads in here.. Some nice stuff going on... Â My offering is Zero Tolerance by David Holmes... Â I'm not really sure what genre I'd call it... I guess it's kinda rocky jazzy stuff a lot of the time.. closest thing I could maybe relate it to is Faith No More circa King for a Day. But even that's a square peg in a round pigeon hole... He's a brilliant composer and he makes music. That's all you need to know. Â Oh, and that the woman who sings on this track (and subsequently sang on a bunch of other tracks for him) has the hottest voice ever. I should really find out who she is.... Paid Members Au Posted April 4, 2007 Paid Members Share Posted April 4, 2007 My song for the day, carrying on with a theme, I think... Parkamarka
It's about time we had some Nick Cave in this thread. Good work. Â This here is my favourite track of last year, by Lambchop off the criminally overlooked album Damaged. For those unfamiliar with Lambchop, they're a Nashville-based collective based around songwriter Kurt Wagner. He doesn't so much sing as speak in tune (kind of), and the music is summery alt-country/Americana. This song is about 8 minutes of hazy, drifting guitar that always seems like it's teetering on the brink of a massive chorus which never comes. Just great.
