It IS solved. Bears and Nazis, together. Thank goodness bears are little use on the battlefield, but would rather stay in the backroom - by the end of the war, communications between Hitler and his bear counterpart, Bearler, were so strained that there was very little co-ordination. The bears and the nazis were basically duplicating each other's work, coming up with the V2 rocket on almost the same day.

What magazines do the UKFF'ers read? I'm really looking for some recommendations if anybody can do so. It doesn't have to be a specific genre, just something to flick through if I get bored at work. I stopped reading Front and Loaded a couple of years ago and I don't enjoy any of the wrestling mags out there. Are there any good MMA ones worth getting? I picked up an issue of GQ a couple of months back which I did enjoy but there has to be something better out there. No porno's please. I'd take a book to work but I'm gay when it comes to them getting knocked about and I'm not too fussed about what condition a magazine is in.

Stop being gay - books are for reading.

Tell me about it, it's something I've always been the same with. I go fucking nuts if somebody creases the corner of the page over. I'm not like it with anything else, must be a retarded form of OCD.

Oh, and I just read the UKFF newsletter, and the Atlantic.

So far, we have:

1 - Fortean Times

2 - UKFF Newsletter

3 - The Atlantic

Cheeky

I found a stash of old porno mags this morning. I've not physically heald a proper top shelf, hardcore-still-against-the-law, magazine for ages. The lack of 80s soft focus, and 21st Century Photoshop style super skin retouching gave a clean, pleasing effect.

Empire

Retro Gamer

GamesTM

They're the ones I've bought to read on train journeys and whatnot over the last year or so. I actually bought Empire every month from about 2003 to 2009, but half the time I'd buy it and not bother reading it besides a flick through when I first got it. I've got stacks of film magazines and wrestling magazines (and comics) all over my Life of Grime flat. And loads of Man Utd magazines from the mid-nineties. I'd sell them all if there was any money in it.

I also buy Mustard magazine when I see it, but I'm not sure where it's sold other than Forbidden Planet type shops and The Cornerhouse in Manchester. Plus it's a bit shit, apart from really long, in-depth, interesting interviews with seminal comedy figures. http://www.mustardweb.org/

Yeah, Retro Gamer is excellent. I always use the Unconverted feature as a new way of finding something new to play on our cab, it's really useful. I've collected Empire for over 16 years now, I think I've only missed one issue in that time

I would get RG, but its almost impossible to get in Preston. Ive had this out with Darran, the editor of the mag before now, because you cannot get it anywhere here regularly, and the one place that did have it on a regular basis, Forbuoys, near the Hospital has closed down, and been taken over by Booth's who have extended their supermarket into the old shop space.

I subscribed to the original RG, and have issue 1 and the disc kicking around somewhere, and got some free issues of the new mag when the original company went bust. Now, however, its lack of availability is annoying. I cant afford to subscribe again. which makes it extremely hard to give two hoots. Plus there isn't always stuff that appeals, some of the 'linked' stuff as in we will talk about this old game because this new game is out this month, is annoying as is the Future Classic's thing which just seems to be, these are our favourite games, so they are bound to be amazing :(

Empire subscriber since I dunno 1996/7. Im guessing its struggling at the moment as is a shadow of its former self and the limited edition subs covers, which are usually just covers without text on arent really a saving grace. I still read it to keep up with what's happening in the world, and enjoy the Video Dungeon, Classic films, Classic Scene but the reviews have taken on a 'Shite and Sound' wankery about them trying to be something more highbrow, when it isnt and never was. If the upmarket thing works for them, then great, its dull as dishwater as it stands though and the pandering to Peter Jackson and Spielberg, is beginning to irk a little as well.

Sound like a right grump this morning, its probably the hangover kicking in.. Soz
