I can't wait I hope they re create the same segment but this time, they can mock MJF and his reactions are going to be priceless HHH and the WWE Legal team would come down on this like a ton of bricks! Doog Posted May 18 Posted May 18 I suppose it Darby does end up holding the belt another month or two, there's a pretty good chance all of the roster are going to get a title shot at some point, so it will make use of everyone that's on the books! As good as the MJF head shave would be, I just think Darbys the sort of person who only should have a small reign, ala Mankind, and getting the title off him at Double Or Nothing would be about right. We'll see mind. Quote

There's short and then there's Russo. Quote
Paid Members Supremo Posted May 18 Paid Members Posted May 18 (edited) MJF vs. Darby is probably a battle between my two current wrestlers of the year. Quite cool to have two AEW originals now headlining pay per views for the World Title, in a sold out stadium. I’ve no doubt the match will rule. Their match at Full Gear 2021 was an absolute ripper. One of the best pay per view openers of all time. Considering all the awful things Max has done in the seven years he’s been a TV character, not taking the belt off Darby might be the most heelish act of all. Someone has got to stop this madness! In the space of weeks this maniac has taken more big bumps than most wrestlers take in a career! Mick Foley needs to hurry up and explain to him that the big bumps only pay off if you stay alive long enough to get the free lunches. Edited May 18 by Supremo Quote
The King Of Swing Posted May 18 Posted May 18 I can definitely see Darby barely surviving MJF and then finally crashing against Omega, shortly after. Quote

Omega/Darby is one of the few top matches left that they haven't done. I'd love to see it personally. Both men are excellent wrestlers, absolutely mental and I think Darby would reign in some of Kenny's bad tendencies. I don't see any outcome where it isn't a match of the year candidate. Quote
Merzbow Posted May 20 Posted May 20 I have my feelings about the guy but I'm sure there's a lot of good he could do, especially behind the scenes with younger talent. Makes more sense why MJF called him fat and ugly, too. Quote
Doog Posted May 20 Posted May 20 Good use of him this, he was good in commentary during his WWE run, and this sort of host role for the Pre Show is where he'll thrive. Hes a clever bloke, i was suprised how much he rememberd and how he spoke during his podcast with Conrad too, he has a lot still to offer. Hopefully hes up to date with AEW programming so can offer some good insight. Definitely a smart move having him involved in some capacity. Quote

Darby is basically a legit stunt man, the best bumper in pro wrestling history and that he consistently takes such insane bumps but hasn't slowed down at any point or suffered any major injuries to me shows he appears to know better than most what his body is capable of. The crazy bumps are a part of his act. He's never going to stop them. Quote
The King of Old School Posted May 21 Posted May 21 Looks a great card again, just such a turn off that it will be over 5 hours long. Quote

I mean it's obvious the guy isn't in it for the long haul and it's just his personality and way of living life. I don't think he'd be nearly as interested in wrestling if he got told to tone it down. Paid Members LaGoosh Posted May 21 Paid Members Posted May 21 If you follow Darby on Instagram he appears to be doing mad stunts constantly on his time off so it's clear he's never going to stop. As a fan why would you want him to? His mad bumps are fun to watch! Quote
