Thefatduck Posted November 26, 2025 Posted November 26, 2025 I’m currently sat in my local with my dog, Bernese Mountain variety, on my second pint of IPA. I’ve read a couple of chapters of my book, had a packet of chilli popadoms and a chat with fellow travellers around the sun. it’s sometimes just nice to pause and remember that there are nice things, there are simple pleasures that give you joy and we can enjoy things. What does it for you ? Quote
Members SuperBacon Posted November 26, 2025 Members Posted November 26, 2025 In the summer I like to go to the local park and have a coffee and a fag on the bench. That's it. There is never anyone around early in the morning and it's bloody glorious. Quote

Just Some Guy Posted November 26, 2025 Posted November 26, 2025 If the sun has set and there are no clouds I look up and marvel. It's been on my list of things to do for 3 years now to dust off the old telescope and really get back into astronomy properly. Quote

RIDDUM_N_STYLE Posted November 26, 2025 Posted November 26, 2025 Going into the two comic book shops in the city centre on a Wednesday before work, picking up the latest issues of my monthly reads and just browsing all the latest action figure and graphic novel releases. It’s a nice way for me to mentally relax ahead of a busy day and gets me something to read at the weekends when I don’t feel like watching a film or tv Quote

RedTwoster Posted November 27, 2025 Posted November 27, 2025 Being the first person to step outside in my area just after snow has fallen. No footprints yet, the satisfying crunch of the snow under my feet and that feeling of isolation, seeing no one else around through the falling snow. I don’t know why, but it’s a lovely feeling. Paid Members I Bent My Wookie Posted November 27, 2025 Paid Members Posted November 27, 2025 They do these share bags of just red and black fruit pastilles. Its like an Autistic dream for me. That, Irn Bru, blanket and classic Simpsons I can quote throughout. Wouldn't swap that for all the gigs in the world. Quote
Paid Members LaGoosh Posted November 27, 2025 Paid Members Posted November 27, 2025 First thing in the morning before the kids wake up. A cup of tea, some good jam on sourdough toast and a bit of peace and quiet. I feel like a king. Quote
Moderators Chest Rockwell Posted November 27, 2025 Moderators Posted November 27, 2025 (edited) I find the idea of waking up before the kids to be madness. I haven't set a regular alarm since they were born. That is, until getting a puppy recently.. now I am really enjoying the peace of the morning before any other humans are up, so I can finally understand that mentality! Still wouldn't do it if I didn't have to though... Speaking of alarms, something that has been a major quality of life improvement for me - instead of having an audio alarm noise, my alarm is my watch vibrating. It always does enough to wake me but it doesn't give me that horrible jarring nausea that an alarm noise always has done in the past. Absolute game changer!
