Fog Dude Posted February 26 Author Posted February 26 Turns out the match I'd pencilled in for Rory last week was pushed back to early next month, so all guesses would've been void and we'd have wasted another precious space among the set of 10. We definitely dodged a bullet at the last minute there then! Anyway, my picks: Premier League Burnley 1-0 Brentford Newcastle United 0-2 Everton Leeds United 2-3 Manchester City Fulham 2-2 Spurs Arsenal 3-1 Chelsea FA Trophy Sixth Round Horsham 0-3 Southend United Kidderminster Harriers 1-2 Wealdstone Scottish Premiership Rangers 3-2 Celtic Imitation Bundesliga Borussia Dortmund 1-3 Bayern Munich Egyptian Premier League Modern Sport 2-1 Petrojet w/Rory Quote

Fog Dude Posted March 4 Author Posted March 4 The results went live in the original post on Sunday night (just about) and then there was actually a fair bit of change in the table to figure out. We've got a proper title race on our hands again, as the leading pair Vegeta and TildeGuy were best performer and joint second highest scorer for the round, with the deficit being cut by a further point to just a cool half dozen. Meanwhile the gap at the bottom mercifully remains the same for once, whilst Stinky Dad moves back ahead of ultimo by the narrowest or margins and MVP RULZ also improves his position, leapfrogging Rory who kept up the tradition of scoring the least while getting a D2D bet wrong. His oil-based choice of team never actually led at "Modern Sport" (previously called, among other names, Future FC and Coca-Cola FC) but their injury-time equaliser did at least deny a lot of other participants a point or three, though it did also benefit the aforementioned Tilde and especially Stinky. Only my distant wooden spoon rival Chutney Spoon wrongly agreed with Rory in the end. The randomly selected "wildcard" fixture was match #7 at Aggborough, which was a dud since it went to penalties and no guesses opted for a draw, so zero extra bonuses for anybody there. In the Trophy, it turns out only the final now involves possible extra time, a reflection of how little of a priority it is for National League clubs compared to promotion nowadays. Elsewhere, victories for Brentford, Man City, Fulham, Arsenal, Southend and Bayern (spot the odd one out there!) all proved fruitful alongside a score draw at Ibrox following the visitors' dramatic comeback. The sole outcome to cause some bother was Everton's success at the home of the Magpies even though it absolutely went with the form book: Toffees strong on the road this campaign; St James's Park hardly a fortress. Sorry this is a bit late, but we're in the middle of a full midweek round of EPL matches again and the earliest game we're featuring this weekend kicks off at half past four, so I hope nobody was in any hurry to make their picks this time. A new set of 10, including another D2D that pretty much has to be next week if it's gonna happen at all, should pop up at the top of the thread momentarily. Quote
