With all the grimness and hypocrisy in wrestling, I thought it was time for a daft thread that may fall flat on its arse.

In recent years, there’s been a trend for major video game franchises to run orchestral concerts playing their main songs - you’ve had Final Fantasy Distant Worlds, The Legend of Zelda and Skyrim, for example.

Here’s the challenge - you have to compile a similar concert, but for wrestling themes. You can run a maximum of 10-12 songs, and each one will be an orchestral rearrangement of the songs in question.

Make the best concert that you can!

1. Undertaker Ministry theme - I always preferred this to his main theme and I think the strings would sound great.

2. Hangman Ghost Town Triumph - closest thing to a wrestling Ennio Morricone.

3. John Cena My Time - big horn/brass section for this.

4. The Brood - another one that with great strings.

5. Original NXT Nakamura theme - an obvious one but what a cracking theme.

6. Stings WCW Crow theme

7. JBL Longhorn theme

8. The ECW theme - I love this song and a full orchestra going mad on it would be interesting.

9. Goldust theme

10. And to finish...

Really just noting that AEW did a brief run of releasing "symphony" versions of themes, e.g.

All done by Mikey Rukus on a synth I think, but still along the lines.

Let's kick off with Dvorak's 'Symphony No 9', followed by a bit of Wagner and 'Ride of the Valkyries'. If Wagner is allowed despite being problematic, we can probably get away with Strauss' 'Also Sprach Zarathustra', and while we're at it, pop in Mussorgsky's 'Great Gate at Kiev' as well. Elgar up next with 'Pomp and Circumstance', then have a Beethoven/Tchaikovsky mashup with 'Moonlight Sonata' and '1812 Overture'. After that, we'll have Handel's 'Hallelujah Chorus' from Messiah, 'Rule Britannia' by Thomas Arne, a bit more Beethoven with 'Ode to Joy' and finish up with another mashup, with a bit of Carl Orff's 'O Fortuna' and Chopin's 'Funeral March'.

Or,

1. WALTER

2. Daniel Bryan

3. Ric Flair

4. Jerry Lawler

5. Randy Savage

6 and 7. Claudio Castagnoli double-bill

8. Damien Sandow

9. British Bulldog

10. Hunter Hearst Helmsley

11 and 12. The Undertaker double-bill

Did I do it right?

Here’s mine…

1. Goldberg - you have to start with a big ‘un, so this would be my kick-off

2. Bobby Roode (Glorious) - this would be great with a full orchestra, and it would be the perfect follow-up to Goldberg’s theme which, while good, probably isn’t one that would make your playlist.

3. Shinsuke Nakamura (first WWE theme) -  another one that would sound amazing when performed by an orchestra. A nice follow-up to Glorious too; particularly since that was almost Nakamura’s theme.

4. Roman Reigns Bloodline theme - a great theme that would sound brilliant in this context. And another big gun after two great themes from two wrestlers of middling status.

5. Hangman Page (original AEW theme) - a bit of AEW now, with one of their best ever themes.

6. MJF - it may be stock music, but I actually like this theme! It would be a fun one to follow up Hangman.

7. Asuka theme (first WWE theme) - pretty sure she has something generic now, but her original WWE theme would work great for something like this.

8. Finn Balor theme - his original WWE theme of course, not the current generic nonsense.

9. Goldust theme - another one that would work well in this situation.

10. Kenny Omega AEW theme - as above!

11. CM Punk (Cult of Personality) - he’s a disappointing hypocrite, but this theme song is still great. Hearing an orchestral version would be interesting, if nothing else.

12 (encore) - Undertaker theme medley - lots to work with here, and a fun way to finish.

An interesting take on this could be if they focused on one wrestler and played all the different versions of their themes from their career. Showing their progression and changes in their career. Someone like Sting would fit this well with the differing themes throughout his career in different companies, along with the themes you could have shots of him during that time of him with world titles etc.
