Paid Members Callum1993 Posted March 2, 2025 Paid Members Posted March 2, 2025 What a moment. One of the biggest in modern times. Massively heats up what felt like a Mania build that was flagging somewhat. Thought the overall was excellent. The women’s Chamber match really over delivered. Jade’s return was great and Bianca and Rhea feels like the right move for Mania. The women’s tag was probably the lowlight of the show but it gave Trish and Tiffany a nice moment in Canada. KO and Sami was excellent and feels like a perfect ending for their feud for now. Orton and Owens for Mania could be great. You assume Sami goes into a programme with Kross? The Men’s chamber itself was decent. In terms of in-ring it’s the best Cena has looked in a number of years. Logically sets up McIntyre/Priest for Mania and likely for Punk/Reigns/Rollins. The heel turn was done perfectly. It’s created a real buzz going into Mania and honestly it was something I never thought we’d see. Cinema ? Quote
Paid Members FLips Posted March 2, 2025 Paid Members Posted March 2, 2025 (edited) The Women's Chamber wasn't a show stealer or anything but it was decent enough. The Cargill return and the Naomi attack were note perfect, and made the following match more interesting. I think Belair is the wrong winner here though, even though it's done to death I would prefer Liv Morgan vs Rhea again over some random match with Belair who you would think should be more interested in why her tag partners are kicking fuck out of each other? Maybe the stories will intertwine somehow or she nopes out of it entirely quick enough to build her Mania match. Skipped the tag match because it feels like we get this match or some combo of it every week on Smackdown. I forgot Trish was even in it. Sami vs Owens was dull. Call me out of touch but for me a lights out unsanctioned match involving barbed wire and chairs needs blood. When you're doing violent spots and a hair whip in the women's chamber caused a bigger wound then it takes me out of it a bit. Felt over indulgent at nearly half an hour and not as deep as they thought it was. Great to see Randy back though, what a juiced up star he is. Men's Chamber was fine but it was always going to be with those entrants. Nothing stood out though, and again it might just be me but it needed to be more violent. When it's just a regular match then what's the point of the chamber? No major spots, no brutality, not really much drama in the pod openings. It got a job done in the sense of making Wrestlemania matches but as a match it was a bit of a letdown. A lot of these men apparently hate each other but you'd never know it. Just like everyone else I didn't see the Cena turn coming at all. I did think it was awkward him and especially Travis Scott were still there but you've seen shit like this a dozen times, usually with Cena. Stood in the background of segments gawking and overacting. Big pop for the uncensored Cody "Go fuck yourself". Never in my life thought I'd see a heel Cena and rightfully so, though it was touch and go for second after those worked knuckle duster punches never opened him up, Cody got colour. Fantastic. No idea still why Travis Scott was there and so involved though. Probably another one of Dwayne's dumb ideas but it will please the kids on TikTok I guess. Overall not a great show for match quality with only 4 on the card and none of them in particular being worth watching the show for. That being said the Cargill return was great, the Randy return was great, the Cena turn is unmissable and steered an unpredictable Wrestlemania card back on course with some interesting and quality potential matches. The King of Old School Posted March 2, 2025 Posted March 2, 2025 Another perfect example, like Toni Storm coming back on AEW. Just let things play out rather than jumping on everything instantly and calling it shite etc. A perfect ending that, looking forward to seeing where it goes. Quote

Members SuperBacon Posted March 2, 2025 Members Posted March 2, 2025 I mean that was just fantastic. A brilliant moment that was pulled off so well, and I genuinely marked out for it. Great Chamber matches as well, but far too much Rollins in the mens. Sod off mate, and take Drew with you. You're both shit. Loved all of Zayn vs Owens as well. Funniest moment of the night was Cole on Punk "It just rolls off his back, nothing bothers the man" Genuinely excited to see where they go with this. Nice one, KFoggs crying. Quote

Kfogg is sobbing into his bowl of corn flakes, what a moment. Don't get why people are saying it's "too late" on social media. Cena couldn't turn heel any other time. It was now or never. Roll on raw where I presume Cena will be to discuss this Quote

I think it makes perfect sense, and is the right time, and who knows what the future plans are, well obviously those who saw the heel turn coming of course. Quote

Paid Members Hannibal Scorch Posted March 2, 2025 Paid Members Posted March 2, 2025 Other than Lion-O’s weird comment bringing up AEW for no reason this was the funnies 1 hour ago, TheScarlettChad said: You saw a Cena heel turn coming? Nobody else did. You must be psychic. On 2/22/2025 at 10:43 PM, RedTwoster said: I don’t think it would work, but I’m not sure it would work as well with anyone as it would Cody - especially if the idea is to run a Cody/Cena match. You’d have Cody doing the one thing Cena never did - selling out his principles and turning heel, and that would make for an interesting dynamic. It could certainly be entertaining with other wrestlers, but I just don’t think it would work as well with someone else. I mean, it might work well with Cena himself, aligning himself with Rock because he is desperate to win that last title; but I think that’s unlikely. On 2/23/2025 at 9:25 AM, air_raid said: I’d love that. They never wanted to turn him heel but why not, if he’s finishing up anyway? Then you get to beat him by an up and coming babyface on the way out rather than risk a Corbin situation. I still think defiant hero Cena pulling a Rocky (n. Dwayne) and slaying Gunther Drago was the way they they should have gone but hey ho, the Yeetle have spoken. On 2/23/2025 at 10:06 AM, Supremo said: Gallus trained The Rock for last year’s Wrestlemania, didn’t they? I reckon Rock just didn’t fancy spending any more time with those whoppers. Don’t need to be trained for a match if you don’t bother having one. Delete Joe Coffey’s number. *All said and done, if this leads to a Cena heel turn, joining forces with the Rock as the FINAL BOSSES, then I reserve the right to wank myself silly over what was quite clearly the greatest night in the history of our sport. Pints of ket for everyone. On 2/23/2025 at 1:00 PM, Supremo said: Cena and The Rock vs. Cody and Vin Diesel. Even CM Punk would be like, “fair enough, I don’t deserve to main event over that.” EVEN ON HERE PEOPLE WERE DISCUSSING IT! But if you looked on social media, groups or comment sections, it was being discussed right after that awful Smackdown promo. It’s not some shocking take from me, but if you thought even for a split second, there’s a chance Cena could turn heel, and you thought, knowing that, that he’s not left the ring when The Rock came out, and you’ve ever watched wrestling for a long time, there’s a chance it could happen, I don’t know what to say. Maybe I am Uri Geller. Quote

Big match John hasn't won a big match in a long time, was staring down the barrel with his retirement, and sold his soul to get that last Wrestlemania main event. Just tremendous. Quote
RedTwoster Posted March 2, 2025 Posted March 2, 2025 Holy fucking shit. I touted this as an option in the Smackdown thread, but I didn’t expect them to actually go ahead with it. As soon as someone suggested Logan Paul as the one to ‘sell their soul’, I was convinced that’s what they’d do. As Cena lurked in the ring, goofing about, I hoped this might happen - but I expected someone else to turn up. Logan Paul, CM Punk, perhaps even Brock Lesnar (though thank fuck he didn’t). I thought Rock himself might shunt Cena out of the main event to take on Cody himself - out of all the possibilities; this seemed the least likely. I mean, they didn’t need to do it. Cena’s final run sells itself. But fuck me, Raw can’t come quickly enough, I can’t wait to see what happens next. And what a banger of a week in wrestling - the fallout from Cena’s heel turn on WWE TV, and AEW Revolution at the weekend - I’m absolutely buzzing! Quote

d-d-d-dAz Posted March 2, 2025 Posted March 2, 2025 (edited) Maybe it's just not my year. The final angle was great, sure (with the exception of Travis Scott hanging around), but that doesn't excuse the fact that its made zero sense to here. And I've called out @Hannibal Scorch for a lot in the past, but he's not wrong here that it was pretty clear where they were going after Cody said 'fuck you'. There was literally no other ending possible then. What were they going to do? All just shake hands and leave? I'm presuming The Rock didn't know he was going to be around during the Netfliz show, then changed his mind and here we are. It'll be great from hereon I'm sure, but no I don't think the angle justifies the build to get there. The Rock is still rubbish, the soul stuff makes no sense and we're still not getting a Rock match. I thought the show was alright, but the crowd were pretty terrible and flattened things out. Disappointed that the Rollins/Reigns/Punk thing seems nailed on. I'm very excited for heel Cena, all that said though. He's going to be utterly excellent. That mean face was such a shocking thing in and of itself, as he's just never done something like that. Count me all the way in on Cena/Cody. But Rock can still fuck off.
