Paid Members tiger_rick Posted January 20, 2025 Paid Members Posted January 20, 2025 Such a shame. She was genuinely a highlight at one point and super over. Never really capitalised on and then was on and off all the time afterwards. Seems to be a bit of a knob, which doesn't help. I'm all in favour of anything that clears up this bloated roster. One thing I forgot from my Collision post was how I just don't need to see Ishii again. He's adding nothing. Same from Rocky Romero and all of that type of person. No-one cares and they are not around enough to get your teeth into. Just scrap them and all other one-offs for a good while, other than Forbidden Door. Black pissing off is good news too. Fenix needs to just be let go. You could easily get rid of another 50 people from their roster page. I almost wish TK was in a financial position that forced his hand. The day they can off ROH and put 50+ people back in TNA or the Indies cannot come soon enough. Quote
Chili Posted January 20, 2025 Posted January 20, 2025 (edited) Seemed to have real Regina George energy at times did Britt. I know Serena Deeb is hardly a top name but they were clearly building a feud with their face off, and Baker's 'nobody cares, nobody cares' to camera was just really insulting and twatty. She also really regressed or got overtaken as the division got better. A fun character more than an In-ring performer. Edited January 20, 2025 by Chili Quote

Not as much as I enjoyed the opener. Good God, but Hangman is good. Quote
The King Of Swing Posted January 20, 2025 Posted January 20, 2025 I'll always have a soft spot for Ishii, as a Collision guy. Rocky can fuck off, though. Quote
Paid Members Supremo Posted January 20, 2025 Paid Members Posted January 20, 2025 For anyone wondering, after all that drama, GCW had their second show at the Hammerstein last night and somehow had an even worse show than last time. Maybe a tribute to Britt Baker. Shit the bed on the biggest stage possible. Anyway, I’ve done the maths. Somehow, it’s been 967 days since this lad was the AEW World Champion. What are we doing. Look at him! Quote

RedTwoster Posted January 20, 2025 Posted January 20, 2025 I’m curious as to where Baker would likely end up if they were to let her go. Given her other job, I’d wonder if she’d even consider the NXT route, or WWE in general. TNA seems more likely to me for that reason, but who knows. 4 hours ago, tiger_rick said: You could easily get rid of another 50 people from their roster page. I wondered how much of an exaggeration this was, so I went through their roster page on Wikipedia (since they’re crap at updating the website) to see how many wrestlers you could release without anyone noticing, and, if anything, 50 was a conservative estimate. There are multiple people wrestling for AEW who I genuinely have never heard of, which is mad. Quote

Not quite no one noticing, since JLM watches Ring of Honor, but people who I don't think add anything, and I didn't reach 50, so there. It was 43. And I only did the men. Quote
Chili Posted January 20, 2025 Posted January 20, 2025 Come on guys, let's see the lists. Who are you shitcanning?!?! Quote

I went with people who I’d not seen on AEW television for quite some time along with wrestlers who barely feature, so I ditched a few people who I actually like (such as Reynolds and Silver) but some of them were so unknown to me that they could have been added in by a Wikipedia prankster for all I know. It’s absolutely astounding how large that roster is. Edited January 20, 2025 by RedTwoster Quote

When people have tried to explain away some of her absences the real job has been an excuse, I remember at one point it was said she's basically on hiatus as a full-time dentist. If she's taking acting gigs and still trying to wrestle I don't see her turning down WWE/NXT. Let's face it a WWE/NXT workload is little different to AEW these days. One show a week, the odd extra show and PR commitments. The next main roster house doesn't look to be until March when they are in Europe. Quote
Chili Posted January 20, 2025 Posted January 20, 2025 Yeah but having a second job whilst being a WWE SUPERSTAR. Hardly respecting the grind is it. Quote
Paid Members Supremo Posted January 20, 2025 Paid Members Posted January 20, 2025 (edited) If Duke "The Dumpster" Droese can work on the bins and still make the time to be a WWF Superstar, then Baker has no excuse. That Britt Baker vs. Nia Jax match is going to be wild. Edited January 20, 2025 by Supremo Quote
