DavidB6937 Posted March 13, 2025 Posted March 13, 2025 Well if Britt is in it, you better watch it quickly because the quality will deteriorate rapidly. Quote
Paid Members Supremo Posted March 13, 2025 Paid Members Posted March 13, 2025 First I’ve heard of this film. They should have mentioned it once or twice on the Revolution Zero Hour show. Quote
rihan007 Posted March 29, 2025 Posted March 29, 2025 any idea if this is being released in the UK Cinemas? Quote

Incredibly unlikely looking at its domestic box office takings ($632,000 over 3 weeks). It’ll end up streaming somewhere at some point because everything does, but I wouldn’t hold your breath for seeing on the big screen Quote
Merzbow Posted May 14, 2025 Posted May 14, 2025 It's coming to streaming today, not sure if US only but if so it'll be on *those* sites almost instantly. Quote
theringmaster Posted May 15, 2025 Posted May 15, 2025 I never understand why they make these films just to get a limited release? What the budget on the this thing? Got to be a couple of mill surely? A short cinema run just seems the logical thing to do. Quote

Ask the film distributors and cinema chains, they just don't want to take chances on films these days. Even with companies like Neon growing it's a pain in the fucking arse trying to find one of their films that isn't shown just once a day for a week. Edited May 15, 2025 by Merzbow Quote
The Reverend Posted May 16, 2025 Author Posted May 16, 2025 Just found a copy, will give it a watch. I don't know why it surprised me, but it runs for about 2hrs 10 - I presumed it was going to be a 90 minute type job. Quote
Paid Members Bellenda Carlisle Posted May 16, 2025 Paid Members Posted May 16, 2025 I watched this late last night, I really enjoyed it but I like cheap, shit, basic over the top stuff and love old timey wrestling imagery and vintage women's wrestling. The Iron Claw it wasn't, more like an old fashioned biopic from the 50s. The women were the highlight, I liked Felicity from Arrow as Mildred a lot despite her character being ridiculously perfect and flawless. Kamille was fun and had good screen presence as the Ivan Drago of the film. I was constantly confused by the relative ages of Mildred, Wolff and their sons though. I also assumed at one point it must be about halfway through and checked and there was still an hour and three quarters left to go. Quote
Merzbow Posted May 16, 2025 Posted May 16, 2025 (edited) There's a weird thing where they quote or reference modern wrestling, feels totally out of place for a biopic of a certain time period. Somehow Disco Inferno got one of his gimmicks in to the film, too. Edited May 16, 2025 by Merzbow Quote

Although with Mubi winning the rights (over several other major streamers) to the new Lynn Ramsey/Jennifer Lawrence/Robert Pattison film by offering to do a full release we might see some filmmakers look for similar deals. Although realisitically it's only going to be super buzzy projects which this film would not have been. Quote
Awards Moderator HarmonicGenerator Posted September 6, 2025 Awards Moderator Posted September 6, 2025 The film is getting a limited cinema release over here from the 19th, and it'll be on VOD from the 13th of October. Quote
Paid Members BigJag Posted September 6, 2025 Paid Members Posted September 6, 2025 Can't see it listed in Leicester. Will keep looking. Quote
