New wrestling film - Queen of the Ring

New trailer for the Mildred Burke film 'Queen of the Ring' coming in 2025.

Looks like it may be a decent watch. With The Wrestler, The Iron Claw and now this, it seems there's been some good films about our favourite sport.

Anyone got any wishes for future flicks? I'd love to see a territory based film - maybe a film based on the Funks or Harley Race. Or a gritty flick looking at the 60's/70's UK scene.

On the plus side it stars Toni Storm, Walter Goggins and Martin Kove from Karate Kid.

On the downside it also has Britt Baker in it.

Cornette seems to be in it and JR has something to do with it in an executive producer role, which is a very loose term but you'd hope with that pair involved it'll be somewhat faithful to the truth. Hopefully it won't be as bleak as Iron Claw

Isn't Mildred the one that got fucked over by her husband who was bascially a pimp? If so, it's gonna be bleak.

It's based on of the best written and researched wrestling autobiographies, so they've got the source material to make it accurate. The real story is pretty compelling, including having what was probably the last genuine pro wrestling shoot (no planned finish and competitive) for forty-something years.

Do we know if this is getting a UK cinema release? Or is ot going to be a case of waiting for streaming?

I can't see anything about a UK release, the US cinema release itself seems to be very limited. This surprisingly lengthy Telegraph article about it and Mildred Burke says no date has been announced.
