It was Smackdown Ring Announcer Alicia Taylor who in the last few months seemed to be copying a lot of Irvin’s traits https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Alicia_Warrington

I dont necessarily mind War Games, I just don't think there needs to be two of them every year.

Feels like they are giving the Women a War Games match because they think they have too, rather than letting a story naturally unfold where one makes sense.

Should just be one War Games match each year, not fussed if it's a mens match or womens match as long as the story that gets to it makes sense.

I imagine it's this and him being a respected hand who can speak Japanese. You can roll him out to talk to the Japanese press or have him mentor someone who speaks Japanese but isn't as confident in English. It's one of those things where there's probably reasons for things beyond what we see on the screen. 

It's interesting that Tanahashi is president of NJPW, Nakamura is an amateur surfer who sometimes wrestles for WWE and Shibata is training young wrestlers on how to headbutt each other for real. 

Wonder if anyone had all 3 of those on their bingo cards.

It’s a match type I struggle to enjoy. That portion in which no one can win - it drags for me. I’d like some classic Survivor Series-style matches next year, I think.

Yeah the concept of War Games - two cages etc - is a solid one but the beginning part is absolutely daft. They shouldn't be scared to update the rules and adapt for 2024.

I wouldn't be against resting it for a bit, simply because I do find it a bit samey and annoying on a schedule. Fine if they've got a decent feud to be putting in there but not when you've got a bunch of random women and then you decide to make Nia Jax wrestle the whole fucking thing.

I think Vince Russo tried that in 2000.

Do people find the old WCW/NWA War Games matches shit because of the rules? Genuinely curious because the whole nobody can win until everyone is in, never bothered me personally that much. Obviously an example but War Games 1992 (which is still the best ever), felt like the whole bit before The Match Beyond stip felt perfect because it was 10 blokes who just wanted to use that time to beat and bloody each other senseless.

Can't say I've watched too many of them but no I don't really remember being that bothered about it before, so it could just be a modern booking thing or the fact the commentators don't stop going on about it.

AEW are missing a trick not nicking the 5 on 5 elimination style match for a pay per view while WWE aren't using it. Match equivalent of accidentally letting the Rock's contract expire. Plus it's an opportunity for more belts.
