Would absolutely shake up AEW and put a whole bunch of new storylines into the picture. Not quite Hogan levels of shock but would be interesting to see where it goes. Only if they've been on the drink too much. Quote
Paid Members BomberPat Posted November 22, 2024 Paid Members Posted November 22, 2024 it's good to see some of the booking ideas in here to be reminded that things can always get worse. Quote
Paid Members LaGoosh Posted November 22, 2024 Paid Members Posted November 22, 2024 The funniest thing about the Devil storyline and the MJF bidding war stuff is that this story basically tanked the ratings for Dynamite to the point that they've never recovered. I think the Devil was probably worse for AEW than CM Punk. Instead of a big fat new deal they should have let MJF fuck off to WWE in my opinion. Quote
Paid Members Hannibal Scorch Posted November 22, 2024 Paid Members Posted November 22, 2024 Over 9000 tickets sold. At least the crowd should be up for it. Hopefully. Quote

It amuses how all the anti-wwe people i know in real life talk about MJF being the only good thing in AEW, when any regular AEW watcher knows his act got pretty stale once he got the belt and he's really starting to show he has a glass ceiling. DavidB6937 Posted November 22, 2024 Posted November 22, 2024 See I don't think he has a glass ceiling per se. Just that they've booked him terribly recently, regressed his act entirely and left him stuck in a rut. It's a real shame as there was complexity and potential there. He didn't need to be where he is now. Quote

I don't remember that Four Pillars story being much cop at all, either, though it wasn't dreadful I suppose. Quote

The biggest problem with the four pillars stuff was that 50% of the people involved weren't really any good. Sammy is shit, Perry is/was still trying to find his feet and may never do so. Then Darby Allin, the second strongest performer of the four, isn't any cop on the mic. It was a mistake of a program to begin with. Quote

That's to say there was any genuine major interest in signing him to begin with. I don't believe for a second there was. If there actually was some interest in signing him he'd almost certainly have been NXT bound as opposed to main roster, I'd imagine. Quote

Nah he'd be main roster but they have the Grayson lad and Austin Theory already doing the schtick he'd end up with, unless Miz needs another stuntman. Quote
