Lovely stuff. But not for fruit! It's great with grilled seafood, it's usually made with a fresh lime so it's got a bit more juice. Lovelly for dipping prawns and squid in Quote

Every single day he would cook the same meal for himself which I will describe step by step below. The first time I saw this, I thought it was one of this situations where you just make something from whatever you have leftover due to being skint. But no. Every day. 1. half way fill a small wok in vegetable oil 2. Add in diced hot dogs 3. Chuck some red pepper and cucumber into the mix while the hot dogs are frying 4. Throw a couple of eggs in there 5. Empty the contents of the wok over two very thick and generously buttered slices of white bread 6. Crumble some feta over the top of it all 7. Cover the entire thing in tomato sauce (Lidls own) Actually sounds like a bit like a home budget version of this, Adana Iron Toast: Edited August 20, 2024 by Carbomb Quote

deathrey Posted August 20, 2024 Posted August 20, 2024 That's not really Indian food, so that's fine. Sausage away Quote

BrodyGraham Posted August 20, 2024 Posted August 20, 2024 I've mentioned these elsewhere, but marmalade on bacon butties is very nice and sliced strawberries on a burger or a chilli. I used to live on baked sweet potatoes with cream cheese and marmite. Quote
Ironic Indie Lad Posted September 5, 2024 Posted September 5, 2024 Back once again with more updates from my Filipino Father in Law. I made Spaghetti Bolognese the other night for my wife and I. I offered him some and he shouted "I will eat later!" from the living room. Later turned out to be approximately 30 seconds later as he immediately came into the kitchen and served himself a plate. For some reason, he then loudly announced "I will eat this...with rice!". So he had a plate of Bolognese with the pasta already mixed together with the meat and sauce and a portion of white rice beside it. Bit odd, I thought, but nothing too crazy. He then poured some chicken and rice soup over the top of all of this. Then added some fish sauce. Then added some pickled onions on the side. He may be the only person in human history to have consumed Bolognese in this way. Quote
Paid Members air_raid Posted September 5, 2024 Paid Members Posted September 5, 2024 I've seen lots of wrong uns doing noodles and rice on the same plate, but that's prawn crackers. 1 hour ago, Ironic Indie Lad said: He may be the only person in human history to have consumed Bolognese in this way. Some pretty crazy stuff done in the name of Bolognese. For instance, in Bologna, they don't even eat it with spaghetti. Quote

I have an Italian friend who lists spaghetti Bolognese as being one of many instances of "British gastro-terrorism". Not just because we serve it with spaghetti, but also because we put so much tomato sauce in it - it's meant to be a long, slow-cooked meat sauce, usually with cuts of beef that break up after cooking overnight, rather than minced beef. Also, we don't use the base of carrots, onions, and celery, Fuck knows what he'd think of the above. Maybe he'd think "fuck it, it's ruined already". Quote

Ironic Indie Lad Posted September 5, 2024 Posted September 5, 2024 I've always used combined beef and pork mince, celery, onions, carrots, garlic, salt, pepper, beef stock, oregano, basil and tomatoes. Quote
