SuperBacon
Disrupting local rivals title charges...bring on Sunday, where that won't happen at all. Still nice of Gary Neville to acknowledge Daniel Calvert-Lewin.
The Gaffer
I don't buy the leak concerns as a reason for Klopp announcing his departure with months left in the season. It feels like it was to do a big narrative push for commercialisation reasons, which you could handily rationalise as "Well the team will give it their all now." The kind of hubristic optimism that doesn't bother factoring in "If they blow it in any way that invites jeers, this is going to be proper shit." Oh well. North London forever. Mr_Danger
I think the most optimistic result on that spreadsheet is beating Sheff Utd on the last day of the season. Even more so if there’s anything riding on it. That’s got Spursy result written all over it.

Saying that, City lose tonight and I'm lumping on obviously.
Factotum
The narrative that Klopp announcing he was leaving is the reason they have collapsed would make sense if they weren't in all 4 competitions mid March, and were top only a few weeks ago. The real reason is they overachieved this season and are not as good as Arsenal and City. He's also replaced that amazing front three with players who aren't good enough. Will be a few years of transition for Liverpool now. Carragher losing his head yesterday was funny. Wayne Rooney I thought was great on punditry especially with Liverpool constantly moaning about 12.30 kick offs. I mean playing first IS an advantage. I’ve even heard some people pose that the announcement was to add extra story to whatever documentary they’re shooting this season. I agree on the overachieving and the forwards don’t compliment each other the way Salah, Mane and Bobby did. It’s a very dysfunctional attack. Salah is Salah but has swapped out a bit of pace for creativity. Diaz just doesn’t really suit the way we play and whilst is a very good player I won’t be surprised to see them cash in on him in the summer. Nunez is just fucking weird. A wild stallion who I can imagine any new manager will look at and think they can make a great impression by turning him in to the player we thought we were getting before quickly realising that a player approaching his mid 20’s is probably past being able to be coached the offside rule and hitting the ball either side of the goal keeper. There’s still a great team there and if the spine of it stays I’d hope it will be a short transitional period but I’m very aware the days of being the only challengers to City are going out the door with Klopp.

That's it. If a new manager keeps him, they're mental.

It’s not unfathomable that a new manager gives him an another season. He’s, tall, strong, powerful and quick. He’s perfectly adaptable to the physicality of the league and has shown flashes of being unplayable. Unfortunately it’s the prolonged runs in between those flashes that are, imo, the incurable problem. I wouldn’t mind keeping him as a sort of tribute to Divock Origi tbh. LCJ
Nunez looks clumsy AF and a liability a lot of the time yet still occasionally contributes important goals and looks like a decent player when he’s in the mood. Unfortunately for Liverpool, it was the former last night.

Listen, I'm going to stop here, as @PunkStep will attest, I could go on all day with how shit I think Nunez is, and we're all "busy"
