Tim Healys Chutney Spoon
Levy will NEVER spend that much on a player. Much more likely that he'll put a golf course outside the ground or something similar.
METAL ON METAL
Why do they even bother mentioning Spurs? Christ, might as well just put ‘Blyth Spartans are interested in signing Mbappe.

David
Just now, Big'Olympic_Hero'Pete said: This sort of thing will kill football Football was on the outs long before the Saudi's got involved. The English league with the Sky money has skewed the game to a ridiculous extent already. The Saudi's are just the next stage of that. It won't be long before we see the Saudi league score a good TV deal, and we can all watch it from the comfort of our couches alongside the English league. In fact, why not get the Saudi sides into the Champions League mix? They already allow Israeli sides in European competition. Saudi is basically next door. Fuck it. Tim Healys Chutney Spoon
I can see that happening. Teams like Barca, Real, Juve etc are desperate for cash so adding mega rich clubs from Saudi could save them
David
And why stop there? Chuck in the top team or two from MLS, get Messi and his Miami team into the mix as well. Change it from the European Champions League into the World Champions Cup or some shite like that.

Mr_Danger
I’m taking the right to reserve judgement on any Saudi inclusion/breakaway super league until Gary Neville tells me if it’s the right sort of dirty money to be ok with. After all his sterling work fighting the attempts at the last Super League it’s the least we can do.

Paid Members CleetusVanDamme Posted July 24, 2023 Paid Members Share Posted July 24, 2023 (edited) The media and particularly Gary "integrity of the game" Neville has been weirdly quiet on Telles (and others linked) going to Saudi. How on earth did we end up in a situation where one club is under intense scrutiny because their owners once let Saudis put 5% investment into a hotel chain with them, but the team that was actually, directly (no Dynamite Duane conspiracies needed) sponsored by the Saudi state for over a decade has a free ride? Just so we're clear, I don't think there's any real conflict of interest going on in any transfers to Saudi aside from Newcastle. If you reached like Dhalsim to try and taint one club's transfer business based on nothing links, there's not a fucking chance you can reasonably not be calling for investigations into United right now though. Have some shame. Edited July 24, 2023 by CleetusVanDamme
King Mal the Glorious
People are making out like Newcastle are sending Jeff Hendrick off to Saudi for £100m. The only player that's been linked is Saint-Maximin for £20-30m, which is peanuts these days.
Mr_Danger
Yeah the price is fair I think. It’s the fact that they’re selling him to themselves that is shady as fuck but City have done it and it’s standard between the Red Bull’s. Plus United have been selling players to their little bros Everton for ages. Edited July 24, 2023 by Mr_Danger
textonly
As much as the Saint-Maximin fee complaints are nonsense, it'll be funny to see the FA and Premier League backtrack on their decision to welcome in the Saudis now they're actively building a competitor. If the Premier League TV deal money gets impacted even slightly, suddenly everything at Newcastle's going to be run through the wringer, pretending all the while it's because they've suddenly developed a conscience.
