organizedkaos Posted November 27, 2023 Posted November 27, 2023 (edited) My only thought with the house rules is maybe it's an opportunity to boost Hart's experience? Lots of open challenges with different match types? But yeah it's more likely so they don't have to say.. book a feud or any sort of cohesive plot around the belt. Just have her hammer through all the midcarders until Willow Nightingale has lost enough momentum for it to be her turn Edited November 27, 2023 by organizedkaos Quote
Paid Members JLM Posted November 27, 2023 Paid Members Posted November 27, 2023 (edited) Yeah, one upside is that it also gives you smoke and mirrors/shortcut options rather than repeatedly exposing her in long standard singles matches. I would be open to that if they did a better job of establishing and defining it. Have the challenger each week come with a specific plan in mind and their house rule based on that. From past experience I don’t trust Tony to do that with this gimmick but I hope he proves me wrong. Edited November 27, 2023 by JLM Quote
organizedkaos Posted November 27, 2023 Posted November 27, 2023 Admitedly "suprise cage match" would be kinda amusing Or actually any escalating gimmickery/plot/sense that wrestlers think about things. Try and give it a feel beyond "no dq"/"no countouts"/"no dq and no countouts"/"house of black barred from ringside despite not being allowed to get physically involved due to television regulations" Quote
Paid Members LaGoosh Posted November 28, 2023 Paid Members Posted November 28, 2023 Garcia vs Claudio and Kingston vs King were both excellent matches well worth seeking out. And there was a good amount of fun backstage promos, Big Bill being great and a brilliant Copeland/Killswitch angle. Rest of the the show was fairly forgettable but for a B-show on a dead night with all the attention elsewhere it was a perfectly acceptable episode of wrestling. Quote
Paid Members LaGoosh Posted December 2, 2023 Paid Members Posted December 2, 2023 This is great shit. These two are going to throw out a late contender for Match of the Year tonight. Can't wait, it'll be beautiful. My verdict: a draw. Quote
Loki Posted December 2, 2023 Posted December 2, 2023 (edited) Danielson’s eye is legitimately not healed and he’s going to wear an eye protector and wrestle anyway. He shouldn’t be anywhere near a wrestling ring and Tony Khan should take responsibility and replace him in the tournament and send him home until he’s not risking his eyesight for a fake sport. Paid Members LaGoosh Posted December 2, 2023 Paid Members Posted December 2, 2023 (edited) Yeah probably. Oh well. I think Undertaker wrestled with the same injury back in the 90s except he wore that stupid mask to protect himself. Edited December 2, 2023 by LaGoosh Quote
Infinity Land Posted December 2, 2023 Posted December 2, 2023 (edited) I guess TK checked twitter recently and noticed the complaints about booking Toni Storm v. Skye Blue again this year. 4th Time on TV and 6th overall including House Shows. As well as the general criticism of the usual faces getting TV time. I don't think anyone could have predicted Kiera Hogan v. Abadon. Edited December 2, 2023 by Infinity Land Quote

Chili Posted December 2, 2023 Posted December 2, 2023 Scott Steiner & Shane Helms have all wrestled with mask protectors from orbital bone injuries as well. Not that it justified just adding that this isn't a first time precedent, as daft as it fucking is to do mind. Quote

I mean Petr Cech continued to wear a helmet for the rest of his career after his skull fracture. Quote
Merzbow Posted December 3, 2023 Posted December 3, 2023 I think it's a little more concerning with Bryan due to his history of injuries, how he works and how he's been wreckless while hurt in the past. But I can't moralize too hard, I still adore that run which included Morishima shattering his eye.. Quote

Paid Members LaGoosh Posted December 3, 2023 Paid Members Posted December 3, 2023 (edited) Danielson's idiocy/insanity aside, this was an incredible match. An absolute selling masterclass from Kingston. They told a brilliant story and I really hope they have a third match in AEW at some point. Danielson humiliating Kingston at the end was the perfect touch. Now we have Eddie as a wounded animal with something to prove against his biggest rival Claudio Castagnoli next week in a must win scenario? Top notch booking.
