King Coconut Posted July 19, 2022 Posted July 19, 2022 It hit 38 in my garden today. Even my Greek tortoises didn't show their faces. My skin is at least 3 tooth-whiteness grades browner and I bloody loves it. Quote
Paid Members Carbomb Posted August 17, 2022 Author Paid Members Posted August 17, 2022 Sat in my office at home with a fresh, hot cup of coffee, watching it absolutely bucket it down outside. Feeling very cosy, and I'm struck by how much of a "long time, no see" feeling that is. Hope it washes the heaviness out of the air, before the next heatwave starts. Quote

Paid Members Carbomb Posted May 24 Author Paid Members Posted May 24 Am loving the weather right now. Ice cream, cold drinks, the smell of suncream, sat in my garden. Good for a bank holiday weekend. Quote
Paid Members Gus Mears Posted May 24 Paid Members Posted May 24 Apart from it occasionally smelling like turds, basement flat life is good right now to cool down after a few hours in the lovely lovely sun. Quote

Double post wanker. Just like last year, the tortoises hid in the shade today and I drank lager and antagonised the fools in the weakling weather thread. Quote

NeverYield Posted May 24 Posted May 24 The Sun got the better of me and a friend of mine today. I'm not much of a drinker nowadays, but a bit of a session has commenced today and it's been stupendous. Enjoy the bank holiday weekend lads. Quote
AshC Posted May 27 Posted May 27 Best weather I can remember on this island, the past few days. Outstanding! 🌞 Quote
Paid Members Gus Mears Posted June 23 Paid Members Posted June 23 Lovely this. Out on the river bank at a pub enjoying some soft drinks with loads of ice in. Nice bit of breeze. Have lined up catching up with friends most evenings this week to make the most of it. Quote
Paid Members JLM Posted June 24 Paid Members Posted June 24 Ah it’s nice to see this thread. I am all about these heat waves. My mood is up, my motivation is up. Last Saturday I was drinking a mango cider outside a pub at 10 PM in shorts and it was about as content as I’ve been all year. I will take being a bit sweaty at night as a trade off for the elevated joy for life the sun brings me. Quote
Paid Members Lorne Malvo Posted June 24 Paid Members Posted June 24 It gets a bit much when I'm on the 180 degree heat press at work, but other than that it's bloody glorious. Quote
Paid Members Gus Mears Posted June 24 Paid Members Posted June 24 I think the seasonal depression aspect is a massive part of why I like this weather. Every year, without fail, I feel horrendous January through March, and it doesn't matter how many supplements I neck or how frequently I shove one of those lamps nto my face. At the moment, the days are long and every evening feels like an opportunity rather than something to get through in order to sleep again. Quote
Moderators Chest Rockwell Posted June 24 Moderators Posted June 24 Yesterday I was sat up on the decking in the afternoon after the kids got home from school, watching them spray the hose at each other and the dog, all running around having fun whilst I was lounging in the sun with a coffee, without a care in the world for just a short time. Bliss. Quote
