I'm glad the only social media I do is here and a couple of other old men forums. I'm sure his toxic fanbase has been out in force everywhere blaming the victim or claiming it's all made up.

I’ve caught bits of it. The usual shite from sad miserable cunts who clearly just hate women and would side with the man no matter how much evidence of guilt they were presented with. Genuinely think most of these cretins only even see women in the porn they watch.

The main argument seems to be that she’s a bad person because she left her boyfriend at home with the kid to go out drinking and sniffing with McGregor and a group of people. So I guess that means she deserved to be raped? What the fuck is wrong with people? Also, where’s the outrage that McGregor left his mrs and kids at home to do the same? They’ll ignore the medical evidence from professionals of the state he left her in, her having a tampon wedged so far inside her they had to surgically remove it and it had McGregor’s DNA on it, she was covered in cuts and bruises etc. But they’ll go ‘she looked alright on the CCTV’ so she’s lying.

Also a lot of the usual ‘she’s just after money’ shite going around. That seems to be a lot of peoples default response any time a famous person is accused of rape. Which says a lot about a person if their immediate instinct is to automatically side with the person accused of rape and call the accuser a liar. Also seeing the usual ‘but he’s rich, he doesn’t need to rape anyone’. Fucking sick to death of seeing that one. Completely misses the point of what rape is about. Power, control etc. Nobody needs to rape. And I seriously doubt she’d put herself through 6 years of hell, threats, being called a liar and people breaking into her home and stabbing her other half just to, maybe, if she won, get around 250K somewhere down the line. I read a few times that McGregor offered her money to settle out of court twice years ago and she turned it down to get her day in court. From bits I’ve read over the years there have been other women he’s done similar to who he’s either successfully paid off or managed to silence with intimidation. Nikita Hand isn’t the only victim.

Yeah its disgusting and makes you realise just how close many men are to committing rape - you start hearing things like "why did she go to the hotel room then" like that action by itself seemingly means that the man is justified.

This is well worth a watch. Hour long interview with a courtroom correspondent who actually attended court every day of the trial.

Got to say as well, fair play to Luke Thomas for being pretty much the only major MMA journalist who’s covered this stuff and put some effort into learning about it and getting the facts out there.

IO Interactive, the developers of the Hitman franchise, are removing the Conor McGregor DLC from all store fronts, ceasing their business relationship with him, based on the court ruling.

Hopefully the house of cards finally starts crashing down on this horrible prick.

This one will hurt him. A bunch of supermarkets and off licences across the UK and Ireland including Tesco and Asda will no longer stock Proper 12 whisky or his stout.

He did sell his stake in Proper 12 but they were still paying him to advertise it. Which they have said they will no longer do. Presumably other business's will follow and both drinks are hopefully done.

Conor's Fiance has come out to defend him in a series of Instagram posts. She basically puts the blame on the accuser and isn't seemingly bother about his cheating, assaults and general psychopathic behaviour.

Absolutely incredible. I'm sure all this will die down, but it feels like he's got a pass to do whatever he wants going forward, aslong as the money is flowing.

Yeah it’s vile stuff and I don’t know what to make of it. There’s a chance she’s basically his biggest victim and she’s doing this out of some warped loyalty or fear of him herself. There’s a chance McGregor’s pressured her to put that out there. And then there’s also the chance that maybe she’s just a horrible cunt herself and she’s just turning a blind eye to it all. I don’t know. But her saying stuff like “I’ll warn my sons that women like you exist” is mental. She didn’t say anything about warning her daughters that men like Conor exist though did she?

And this shit about “she left her other half at home to get off her face with another man” is doing my nut in. Dee repeated that shit on her post but seems to conveniently forget that her fella has been going out getting off his face with other women for years, on camera, in public, flaunting it in her face and she does fuck all. Again, it could be a thing where she’s actually scared to leave him and that’s partly why she puts up with his shite. But it’s just as likely, probably more likely, that she puts up with it because his money allows her an easy life.

As I was alluding to in my previous post, this stuff just seems to be the norm in the woman's entire life is put under huge scrutiny to justify what happened. Laughable that men are so "scared" of such things without a thought for what it must be like to be under constant fear that some bloke is going to rape you.

I know it is hard to judge these things in history but what if Aldo had beaten McGregor ? Maybe in a rematch too.

How much does that derail McGregor? Are we talking things like no Mayweather fight?

I think that would be obvious.

Losing twice to Aldo means no 6 second KO of the then talked about Pound for Pound number 1, no Alvarez fight for the Lightweight title meaning never holding both belts, he’d probably move up to lightweight but then who knows where he’d rank fighting others.

The big sliding doors moment with McGregor is the Chad Mendes fight. If Chad had been able to even train a week longer for that fight he'd probably have won, and I think McGregor struggles to recover from that loss.

The narrative was already taking shape that he couldn't beat a wrestler, and then an out of shape, tiny Chad Mendes came in and was basically proving that right by dominating Conor in the most humiliating way possible at times. Had he not gone tired, and especially if he'd been able to finish the job, I think the McGregor train is much less interesting to people after that. It's hard to rebound after people's negative opinions of you are proven right.

Yeah and when people talk about Conor’s legacy as a fighter (obviously as a human he’s trash), he was a great Featherweight and that’s about it. You look at his UFC run overall and he went 10-4. When you break it down by weight class his overall resume outside of Featherweight doesn’t really stand up to scrutiny.

Featherweight: 7-0 with 6 knockouts and notable wins over Jose Aldo, Chad Mendes, Dustin Poirier and Max Holloway.

Lightweight: 1-3. Beat Eddie Alvarez to become ‘champ champ’. Got broken by Khabib and went 0-2 against Poirier.

Welterweight: 2-1. Got subbed by Nate Diaz, avenged it beating Nate by a close decision, then walked through a washed up Donald Cerrone.

Not taking anything away from his 145 run. That was special despite the above mentioned asterisk attached to the Mendes win. But 155, while the Alvarez win was great and probably Conor’s best overall performance in the UFC, people suck it off way too much. I’m a big fan of Eddie but he was a bit hit and miss in that UFC run. Lost to Cerrone, squeaked a decision against Melendez and beat Pettis but in a surprisingly awful fight. The only truly great UFC win Eddie had at that point was the one when he won the title from RDA. I see people hold up ‘the Conor who fought Eddie Alvarez’ as this mythical unbeatable version of Conor but I’ve never bought into it at all. Eddie’s always had a tendency to get over-aggressive and he played right into Conor’s counterstriking game that night. Still a quality performance but not this other worldly thing people make it out to be. From time to time I still see talk of how ‘the Conor who fought Eddie’ would’ve beat Khabib and it’s fucking laughable cope bollocks. The reason Conor looked better against Alvarez than he did against Khabib was because he wasn’t fighting Khabib! And as good as that Alvarez win was, it’s Conor’s only win at 155 in the UFC.

His best days were always at 145. And it’s nearly 10 years ago now since he last fought at 145! Almost everything above 145 has been shaky to downright bad for him. His power never carried up the same and, while he almost definitely couldn’t make 145 anymore, at the higher weights (especially 170) his movement and stamina suffered. It’s why when I see people chalk his decline up to him lacking motivation and stuff, it makes me laugh. He was simply never as good north of 145lbs. And motivation? Khabib was his biggest career rival and, if he won, that would’ve been the fight that defined his legacy. There was zero reason for Conor to lack motivation or not be able to ‘get up’ for that one. He was all in on it. He just got beat, then he fully unravelled outside the cage and it’s since been retconned as a lack of motivation.

Anyway, yeah, the Aldo win, and maybe more the way he beat him, was the key that opened a lot of doors for McGregor no doubt. If he loses the Mendes fight, the Aldo fight doesn’t happen or it at least gets delayed. So Daz is right there. But the Aldo win itself skyrocketed him. It’s crazy that he gained so much from that win that even losing to Nate in his next fight didn’t damage him too much. It made him almost bulletproof for a long time.
