Former MMA fighter Conor McGregor loses appeal in civil rape case

Conor McGregor has lost his civil jury appeal against a finding that he sexually assaulted a woman.

In November, McGregor was ordered to pay £206,000 in damages plus costs to Nikita Hand, who accused him of raping her in a hotel in Dublin in 2018.

McGregor appealed on the grounds that his lawyers believed his answers to police during interviews should not have been put before the jury.

His barrister also argued that a question on the "issue paper" given to the jury to help them decide their verdict should have been worded differently.

Three senior judges at the Court of Appeal in Dublin dismissed the appeal on all grounds.

Yeah was pleased to read this earlier. Saw a clip of Nikita Hand talking outside the court after and she said she’s felt like she’s had to relive it all over again due to the appeal dragging it all back up. That was probably the sole aim from McGregor to begin with, apparently his side didn’t even come up with a fresh argument so I don’t know why he’d expect a different outcome this time. It’s like he appealed purely to drag the poor woman back through court. Absolute subhuman scumbag.

Already seen a few proper brain dead idiots claiming this is all a conspiracy to bring McGregor down because he’s ’running for president of Ireland’. First of all, the amount of weapons who believe he’s got a realistic chance of that is mind boggling. And again, I don’t even think McGregor himself actually believes he’s got a chance of being president. He only started talking about running for president when this Nikita Hand case started getting close to court last year. Before that I don’t remember him ever expressing any interest in going into politics or whatever. I think he’s literally only gone that route recently for the specific reason that he knew that when the shit hit the fan with this case, he could then use the excuse of ‘I’m innocent! The system/matrix is just trying to take me down because they don’t want me becoming president’. We’ve seen similar bollocks smokescreens from the likes of the Tates and Russell Brand when they got sexual abuse allegations against them. ‘They’re trying to silence me’ has become the go-to defence for sex pests. And as always, there’s a bunch of weirdos, incel woman haters/abusers, and potential or actual rapists ready to shove their stupid heads straight into the tinfoil hats and lap up any old conspiracy shite they hear. This rape was first reported in late 2018. The case has been being built ever since then but of course these things are slow moving. It’s not something that’s been magically cooked up over the last year or so just to derail McGregor’s bullshit presidential hopes. It’s all just McGregor trying to create a narrative where he’s the real victim in all this and he’s being silenced (if only). A few of us have said it for years but his story seems like it’s inevitably gonna end in a jail cell or crack den.

Failing to understand the difference between criminal and civil courts despite twice being found culpable of sexual assault in a civil court is a real stupidity flex.

Even if I cared and he did fight again, and even if he still had the kind of drawing power he used to, he'd probably be obliterated by anyone who warranted that level of assumed promotion.

He'd most likely be at welterweight at this point in his life, and I don't see him beating anyone out of Brady, Belal, Leon, forget Shavkat or JDM. 

Only one I might give him a very slim chance against would be Buckley solely because of his inconsistency, and why would the UFC waste what value is left in his return on that?

If he could make LW, I wouldn't mind seeing him get destroyed by someone like Holloway or Oliveira, but it would probably go to that roaster Pimblett.

Yes I expect so too. I'm guessing if he actually wants to fight mid 2026 this will involve him. One actually doing the drug tests now and not running away from the testers and two somehow not getting caught for the huge cocktail of drugs in his system. As I doubt he is capable of going clean for an extended period anymore.

He is also perfectly capable of self sabotage in a million others ways of course.

In better news, he tried to appeal the Nikita Hand verdict recently and it got rejected. Although funnily enough, a lot of the MMA media chose not to post that news but were falling over themselves to post about one of his other sexual assault cases got dropped. Funny how they selectively choose what to share when they wanna keep a wrong’un on side because of potential financial gains down the line.
