DavidB6937 Posted October 24, 2025 Posted October 24, 2025 @Frankie Crisp Absolutely no boredom or bumming out here. Lovely to read. Photos are wonderfully heartbreaking thing for me - especially after I lost my dad in 2009 and more recently my son this year. I struggle with both for various reasons - not having nearly enough with my dad, and not being ready to be able to enjoy the ones of my son yet. But keep writing and keep sharing. Beautiful, funny tales deserve to be heard. Quote
Paid Members Thunderplex Posted October 24, 2025 Paid Members Posted October 24, 2025 @Frankie Crisp happy stories will never bum people out. I’ve recently got back into miniature war gaming and have started to build an American Civil War Army, as subject that I thought I knew very little about. My dad was a big fan of that period, waffled on about it endlessly to the point that as I’m building army and reading up on the facts, I knew most of them from what I’d absorbed from him. Good, happy thoughts. It’s great that you’re going through the photos and getting the good times rolling in your head to replace the intense sadness. It will get better. Quote
deathrey Posted October 25, 2025 Posted October 25, 2025 It's really lovely to read @Frankie Crisp, please do keep sharing. I (and I'm sure everyone else) am really enjoying reading your stories and if it's therapeutic for you, please do carry on sharing Quote
Paid Members Monkee Posted November 8, 2025 Paid Members Posted November 8, 2025 (edited) Spent Halloween wandering around Sleepy Hollow in New York. It was the coolest thing ever seeing all the decorations, people in costumes and the Headless Horseman. This is me in the Old Dutch Church Cemetery where Washington Irving is buried.
