I know this is a long shot but I was curious if anyone knows who was the person/people behind Wrestle Tunes. I know they did El Ligero's theme song but I have zero clue whether they did more or not. I know their website used to be WrestleTunes.com after seeing it listed in this old page. However, when trying to navigate on the site, it seems it hasn't been archived on Wayback Machine. Plus, searching Wrestle Tunes on Google turned me to results of a podcast where they review wrestling music.

What's the situation with buying tickets on the door on the day of a show at Wembley these days? If I swan up to the box office on the day of All In, am I going to get a better deal on a ticket than if I just simply booked aheadv online?

Hi all,

I'm doing some research I hope some kind souls can help me with. I'm looking for examples of a heel/heels really stealing a victory. Not in a way that makes the audience feel short changed but in a way that feels like the babyface has been screwed. I know that's a bit vague, but I'm looking for any examples of this that may have stood out to you. 

If possible post 1995ish examples would be great (because I feel this kind of thing was easy pickings when the audience felt it was a shoot). Hope that makes sense and any and all help is sincerely appreciated.

I’d probably just recommend watching some wrestling mate? If you are really looking to learn why something is good and works, you need to experience the good and the bad, so you can understand what worked and know what they should have done differently etc? Unless you are going to just do a carbon copy of a match/angle, only watching a good example of something isn’t going to really build a depth of knowledge.

 Thank you for your response, I was really vague so it may have sounded like I was asking for something quite generic. I am an old man who has watched a lot of wrestling. I was asking because I find the ukff a uniquely helpful, friendly and knowledgeable place. I was really interested in any examples that had really stuck with any members here. I think those finishes that stick with you are worth studying. So that's what I was looking for examples that made you really feel that the baby had been screwed, to see if there was something that could be learned from what stuck in people's memories, compared to something that was presented as a screw job, but had no emotional impact.

Yes, if you’re talking about the daylight robbery of Smithers at One Night Only. Though it’s not a great bit of booking, really, since it was a four on one mugging with Bret and Owen just sat backstage scratching their arses hoping for the best. Made the Harts look like morons.

It’s slightly before the timeframe you’re asking for but Bret Hart vs Bob Backlund from Survivor Series 1994 was the first example that sprung to mind for me. Bret got screwed by both Backlund and his own brother Owen, who pulled the ultimate shithouse move of convincing Stu and Helen to throw the towel in. Doesn’t get much more dastardly than that.

Bret Harts descent into heeldom from 96-97 is full of this kind of thing and about as good as it gets for creating logical motivations for a turn and the wrestler feeling entirely justified in the process.

It was technically baby/baby but the WMXII Iron Man closing shenanigans getting the ball rolling is a great bit of business. Overtime!? WHY?!? Champions advantage, thank you.

Then the Royal Rumble '97 closing stretch. The Raw cage match with Sid.

Besides ones that have all manner of interference and ballyhoo, I really like examples that stay within and use wrestling/match rules to tell that story. Things like supposed illegal man making the deciding fall in a tag match, but referees decision being final. The 'twin magic' switcharoo utilised by Kurt/Eric Angle and others can be another nice one.

The Brain Busters vs Hart Foundation opener from SummerSlam 89 is maybe my favourite example of this kind of thing. Bret’s got Tully beat, Arn comes off the middle rope and wastes him with a double axe handle and pins him. But to successfully pull off the switcharoo, he hides his head behind Bret’s arm during the pin fall, so the ref won’t clock the bald spot and realise it’s the illegal man Double A making the pin. Little details like that are a brilliant touch. I was raging at the injustice of it when I first saw it as a 7/8 year old.
