Mr_Danger Posted May 7, 2025 Posted May 7, 2025 I liked how many times Lyra and Becky said “Garbage.” Also, every time Heyman or Punk references their best friendship this is how I envision them hanging around. Paulie is deffo the stinky older man in the group with a questionable search history. Quote
Paid Members Supremo Posted May 7, 2025 Paid Members Posted May 7, 2025 There should be an option during Raw to switch to Kevin Owens watching it and cracking jokes, like Gogglebox. Quote

I'm increasingly convinced they're going to put the belt on Logan Paul. Quote

I'd agree with you if I hadn't utterly convinced myself they're about to go hard on Karrion Kross as babyface after his Wrestlemania promo. I think he's stopping Logan winning. Quote

People were chirping "they need to get the title onto Seth" or the 24 hours immediately following Mania so I assumed WWE might have caught on that it would give the new heel group immediate gravitas. Mind you, its again going to piss me off no end that the Rollins/Punk/Reigns drama leads to nothing for Backlash. And hey, Cody Rhodes lost the big belt at Mania, remember him? It's really grinding my gears how few wrestling matches they're trying to get away with in 2025. PLEs have tons of filler, you can't rely on half the roster turning up to any given TV show. House shows don't exist any more. Where's the W, WWE? Gunther's fucked, isn't he? Seth's now the big bad on Raw, Cena is WWE Champion on SmackDown. Even after he beats Pat, there's no main events for him any time soon. Quote

At the moment, I'd assume having Backlash, MITB and a SNME all within about a month has resulted in some reshuffling of when matches happen. Also, SummerSlam isn't THAT far away and they've got two nights to fill there, so I imagine that's coming into to play. The scheduling feels all over the place and that really isn't helping, but they could also have a bit more actual wrestling on these shows. 34 minutes ago, air_raid said: Mind you, its again going to piss me off no end that the Rollins/Punk/Reigns drama leads to nothing for Backlash. I did wonder with Punk back this week if on Smackdown they announce something for them at Backlash, a confrontation or a summit or something with Rollins and Punk, building to MITB or SNME, and eventually to rematch of Punk/Rollins/Reigns at SummerSlam, despite the money clearly being in Punk/Reigns with the cackling berk left out in the cold. I’d be up for feuds with Rusev and Logan Paul, but yeah, he does feel like a bit of a spare part right now. Quote
d-d-d-dAz Posted May 7, 2025 Posted May 7, 2025 Isn't the idea he moves onto Goldberg through Summerslam? Quote

This makes sense in terms of keeping Gunther busy while the title programmes are beyond his reach for now. McAfee was a football player, so I guess there's a connection there, weak as it may be, to make that pivot to the feud and retirement match for Goldberg. Quote
Guest Posted May 7, 2025 Posted May 7, 2025 Going from "Long term world champion facing the rumble winner" to "feuding with a commentator" was always going to be a bit of a bump. But I think he's legit enough to be reheated at any time, so I'm not too worried about him. Quote
Paid Members Devon Malcolm Posted May 8, 2025 Paid Members Posted May 8, 2025 It was a decent episode of Raw with a couple of peaks and a couple of troughs. The opening was really good in that it was a concerted effort to get people booing Rollins' faction, which he then stomped on a bit with his entrance later on. But it was better than last week and I did enjoy Heyman risking a massive heart attack. Glad to see Sheamus back. I like Austin Theory but I'm not sure a babyface turn will work for him. Grayson Waller is fucking crap. Skipped JD McBalor vs Penta because it was late and also because they're both rubbish. Becky came out to talk more drivel but Lyra's coming off well in all this, so at least it has a means to an end. Nice fight at the end. They're bringing in the NXT girls to drag crackers out of Iyo Sky. First it was Vaquer, now Roxanne who wrestles exactly like a diminutive heel should. Giulia's hair is still nice. I don't know where this story is going. Now I'm interested in Rusev. Have him beat up people that the crowd likes rather than just jobbers. Pat McAfee gave us a long history lesson about Omaha that nobody on the planet cared about except people in Omaha. More drivel. The whole atmosphere went out of the building when Rollins kicked out of everything Jey gave him. Match was reasonable but Jey selling the stomp was not. Post-match stuff was alright but I don't think we need more CM Punk vs Seth Rollins. I don't know where this was going. At least Karrion was on as well. Quote

Not that he doesn't look like he's about to keel over normally, but moreso there. Quote
Mr_Danger Posted May 8, 2025 Posted May 8, 2025 You thought that performance was a lot just you wait until he finds out he’s not getting nominated for an Emmy for it. Quote

Paid Members FLips Posted May 9, 2025 Paid Members Posted May 9, 2025 I’m not sure when it happens but I put Raw on today and the Netflix version had been fully edited down to 2 hours with no ads or nonsense. Made it so much easier to get through. Quote
