January intake could work, are they then going to have two intakes running alongside each other or bring them together over time? Most places already offer February starts at Masters level. Just means you teach through the summer, have a longer break over Christmas and January. Lecturers aren't keen because they're teaching all year round, but it's not the hardest thing to introduce. And if it's the difference between keeping your job or massive drop in income and redundancy there's not much of a choice to make. Each student is £27750 over three years. Missing out on 100 students means almost three million quid od missed income. Uni's will find a way for that not to happen.

There are more spaces this year because of the drop in EU and overseas applicants, not to mention the fact that grades and Ucas points on entry are used in many of the league tables. If there is suddenly a glut of students with AAA grades available, believe me, universities will find a way to get them in. Put bluntly, universities are businesses. They are not going to give up potentially millions of pounds of income easily. They'll find a way.
Paid Members Nexus Posted August 17, 2020 Paid Members Share Posted August 17, 2020 In an event which has surprised literally no-one, the government have now said that they will be using teacher-assessed grades.  What an absolute fiasco from start to finish. My heart goes out to all of those students who had to suffer through this shit last week.
Wideload90
The inevitable Tory U-turn has helped those students who were shafted by this shambolic approach. Where was chief Tory cunt Boris Johnson's press conference apologising for the biggest education related balls up in generations? Oh, that's right, he's on another holiday while Tory cunt wife Sarah Vine attempts to justify this break by claiming it's a 24/7 job via the medium of Twitter... Good fucking joke that is as our current PM hasn't worked consistently since he gained power. Few cobra meetings attended, stopped doing briefings and has taken several holidays. The bloke's a fucking cunt and should perish along with the rest of his party. If you voted for this shower of shit, you are a cunt. A dirty, stinking pus-filled cunt.
The King Of Swing
Who'd have thought that being Prime Minister would be a 24/7 job. Wants everyone else back in work while he fucks off for a jolly. Cunts. Edited August 17, 2020 by The King Of Swing
Paid Members Hannibal Scorch Posted August 17, 2020 Paid Members Share Posted August 17, 2020 (edited) Those last two posts could also describe Donald Trump. He’s definitely taken his tips on how to run a country from him (minus the golf trips and parties with Epstein) Edited August 17, 2020 by Hannibal Scorch

Moderators Chest Rockwell Posted August 25, 2020 Moderators Share Posted August 25, 2020 (edited) I guess the only positive way to look at it is even though their natural impulse is to be a bunch of cunts they're also spineless and will cave to pressure... Edited August 25, 2020 by Chest Rockwell

BBC News app had the bloody cheek to send a breaking news alert as if a government U-turn is actually an unforeseen event.

Paid Members Ronnie Posted September 3, 2020 Paid Members Share Posted September 3, 2020 Imagine not even being able to pretend to empathise having been reset several times by the on-air coach: Or maybe she can (Burley says that she knows Coffey is a compassionate woman) but it's been drilled into them that any show of humanity towards refugess and asylum seekers would do even more harm than coming across like this does, which is a depressing thought on the state of the country.
