I've been watching Classic Corrie on ITV3. Its been late 80s/early 90s but it no where near as gritty as Classic Eastenders. Nothing really happens in it. I've still enjoyed it though.

Yeah, my Mum watches that every afternoon. Corrie is too slow paced around that time. It must be hitting around about the same time as Eastenders on Drama and Eastenders knocks it out the window. Corrie is just slow. No MAJOR storylines yet, unless you count Ken Barlow bedding his secretary as a MAJOR storyline. Ken Barlow with his shirt off, lying in bed, is an image I'll never forget.

No way, Corrie is quality. It’s all about the charachters rather than the storylines. Reg Holdsworth is a fucking legend. Jack and Vera are a great double act, as are Bet and Alec and Audrey and that fat moaning cunt Alf. Sally Webster is a beautiful looking thing.

Corrie is light entertainment that can mix it up when it wants to. It’s recently had the Alan Bradley storyline, Ken Barlow going all bad Superman and Gail nearly aborting David Platt (shame that didnt happen).

I cant warm to Des and Steph though.

I have been recording and watching classic Corrie on ITV3 for the last few months now. Can't believe how invested I am in it lol. Even though it's just simple, honest, everyday storylines with quite wooden acting. I love it!!

Yes definitely agree it's all about the characters. Enjoyed rewatching the Alan Bradley storyline (and great acting by him). But rewatching it he wasn't as much of a bastard as I remember. Ken Barlow is in the midst of a proper heel run now.

I work from home a lot and have developed a bit of a crush on Steph Barnes.

Mad to think she later played Alan Partridge's Ukrainian Mrs.

Corrie always nails comedy. Even looking back, there's just brilliant character work going on. 'Enders rarely touches it, though it should. A bit more humor would be welcome (and not people like Gary etc)

Fuck! Mind blown right there

Welcome to the bizarre world of Joe Wicks

If anyone has a spare afternoon, there's a 100 video playlist on YouTube highlighting Joe's time in Walford. I was hooked during this storyline, watching him wrap everything up in tin foil. I really wanted his hairstyle.

Family Affairs, obviously.

Pete Callan was the main man in that indy, so I was delighted when he got the well deserved call up to Chester.
