And he said he was trying to prove a link between the banking system and paedo rings. Ok Pete, that’s why you did it, sure. Again, he's pretty much spoken about this and if you read the book it goes into full details. The Met have said nothing was found, no proof of accessing the sites with child content. The Who did a new album and went on tour, at Daltrey's insistence given what had happened. Also not entirely sure going straight back to writing that book was on his mind straight away given what happened. All the facts on that case are out there. Whether you believe him or not is up to you, but as mentioned, absolutely nothing was found on his computers or that he had accessed anything. I would say that's a pretty fair defence of the guy. Keith Houchen Posted September 20, 2023 Posted September 20, 2023 I won’t read the book as I’m not keen on giving money to people who have been on the sex offenders register. And that’s one of the facts that’s out there. He paid money to owners of a child porn website. Fuck him. Are you a The Who fan by any chance? Quote

Keith Houchen Posted September 20, 2023 Posted September 20, 2023 What’s that on the hard drive, Pete? “Can’t Explain” Just for clarification, I don’t believe he gets his jollies by looking at kiddy porn, or even looked at any. I think he went about whatever point he was trying to make in a fucking stupid way. Quote

Tamura Posted September 22, 2023 Posted September 22, 2023 https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-66876213 Excellent timing on the release of the survey that clearly demonstrates why victims of sexual assault may not choose to report it. Quote

And not particularly a fan of the band,, I just think when lumping certain people in with sex offenders it rather dilutes the point they make as its rather uninformed, which is not the point you were trying to make but the original posters. d-d-d-dAz Posted September 23, 2023 Posted September 23, 2023 (edited) Honestly, I feel sick to my stomach for the women that came forward. Completely trampled over by a media so desperate for clicks they didn’t think about the damage they could do by not filtering out based on the questions “is this illegal behaviour?” or “is this of genuine public interest?”. The documentary was fucking rubbish. A low point in British journalism, and it’s been compounded by a truly horrific following few days where the trivial and banal were conflated with the illegal or immoral; and collectively were forced to sit aside a weird period of media naval gazing where they tried to prove their progressive credentials by dragging their predecessors from the noughties. The government, of course, in their rush to be seen to “do something” put the shitty icing on the cake with those desperate, hacky, illiberal and just fucking stupid letters to tech companies. Collectively, they’ve in a week both condemned and rescued the bloke. Even if he gets convicted - but you’d have to assume if you were a woman with a claim of illegality you’d go nowhere fucking near this now and put yourself through it - it doesn’t matter. They’ve delivered him the win. Fucking horrendous. Edited September 23, 2023 by d-d-d-dAz Quote

Government asking digital publishers to remove his content - despite it not being related to any allegations - prove this is really about silencing the truths in his work, plain to see etc etc Talks about the ‘online safety bill’ a bit.
