Callum1993
Heās built like a Greek God or something? I guess. The tour might interest me if they actually advertise who is going to be on it.Ā
Paid Members Jazzy G Posted September 2, 2018 Paid Members Share Posted September 2, 2018 There's a bit of an ancient Greek/300 inspired look to his entrance attire, but it could easily be him just thinking "Ooooh, IĀ like that look" I guess it theoreticallyĀ sounds a bit ancient Greek if you've read theĀ Asterix books. That's the whole thing, at no point in the series has any mention been made that he's been inspired, or has any kind of connection to that particular part of history so the whole line from Alex Shane sounds like one of his many random non sequiturs he's throwing out whileĀ on commentary. It's notĀ even a lariat, it's more like a crossbody, albeit a very athletic onr.Ā Bloody hell, the Greek pantheon had such a variety of deitiesĀ that I think everybody is built like a Greek GodĀ or Goddess, even if it's Bacchus. Retro Red
I'd love some Asterix inspired naming, although "Luke Atthesizeofum" would be better.

Jon-Carr_92
That's a lot similar to the prices they had for last year's cancelled tapings in Preston. So I guess all venues will be around that. Newport is the one that's doable for me, but I'll see how things go as to if I choose to check that out. WyattSheepMask
ClosestĀ for me would be Scarbourgh, but thatās still better part of an hours drive. I reckon theyāll be practically giving tickets away if you leave it to buy the week of the show. Or theyāll run something on Groupon

Paid Members Arch Stanton Posted September 2, 2018 Paid Members Share Posted September 2, 2018 I went to visit my 84 year old Grandmother today and she asked me if I'd been watching the wrestling on Saturday evenings. It took me a second to realise she was talking about this andĀ I told her that I hadn't seen any of it. I just assumed she was only asking because she knows I do watch a bit of wrestling, but it turns out she's been watching it herself for a few weeks now and is really getting into it! That made me smile, though I wished I'd actually seen a bit of it just so I could have had a bit of a chat with her about it. I know my Grandad used to love the original WOS back in the day, I remember him telling me about it when I was a kid getting into WWF. So anyone here wondering who's actually watching and enjoying this stuff, it's people like my old Gran.

Guest
They arenāt aiming at typical wrestling crowd fans tho, they are after the family crowd that fill big arenas for xfactor and that guff.....give it a week before the show and we will see such deals tho as canāt see them paying for itĀ

I hadn't gone on their page, Ā£12.50 isn't bad, but that is still Ā£75 for 2 adults and 2 kids, plus booking fee. You can't deny the starting adult tickets are too expensive. You could call me mean but most of the wrestlers on the roster can be seen for between Ā£10-20 on shows. I may go, but February is not a good time for me as have stuff happening. I reckon that the commentators lucked into that oneĀ With the look he has with the warrior cape and all I am not sure why they didn't rename him something like Spartan, it would have been instantly memorable and merchanidisable to the kids and he would have come across easily as a superhero to them by having a hero like name. WyattSheepMask
Who is actually writing the show? Is it Alex Shane on his own, or is there a small team? One of the reasons I ask is down to some of the baffling commentary, like the Sysum line thatās been mentioned. He also had this line*Ā during the Submission Match (*without going back and watching, Iām paraphrasing), āJoe Hendry isnāt a submission specialist, his finisher is a submission but heās more of a wrestlerā. But theyāve spent the better part of the last 5 weeks getting the Hendry-Lock over as his finisher, and if heās a better Olympic style wrestler, why isnāt his finisher a pinning move like a Fisherman Suplex or something? Iāve got to say though, theĀ commentary as a whole has improved over the last couple of episodes, but just every now & again they still drop a clanger. The tag title final was decent enough, but I think could have been interesting to have had both teams cheating as much as each other, rather than suddenly have Cruz & Maxstead working as faces. The breakup of Cruz & Maxstead, while predictable, was fine, but to go straight to a Loser Leaves WOS Ladder Match? Slow it down & build towards that, like they did very well with Hendry/Kirby submission match. The Rampage/Bulldog Jr match was good, and the main event handicap match was ok, but Iām not sold on Sysum as one of the top faces.Ā Ive watched it this far, I might as well see it through and see how it ends,Ā but I canāt see this getting picked up again
