The King Of Swing Posted January 13, 2017 Posted January 13, 2017 Has Invasion Attack been replaced by Sakura Genesis? Good to see more English commentary. Quote
Paid Members JNLister Posted January 13, 2017 Paid Members Posted January 13, 2017 Yep, don't know why the change of name. Sakura is cherry blossom, so it's a bit like Spring Stampede. Quote
Zaheer Posted January 14, 2017 Posted January 14, 2017 Watched the main event earlier today. Fantastic match. The Japanese crowd really add something to it. Best match ever / six stars is a bit much, but I guess taste is subjective I guess. I can think of a lot of other matches I would put above it, but it doesn't take anything away from the two guys and their superb outing Quote
Pier Six Brawler Posted January 16, 2017 Posted January 16, 2017 Who is replacing Corino on commentary? Hopefully not Rocky Romero. I wish they'd had English commentary on all shows. Just do the lesser shows from studio in the US, and fly Kelly and whoever over for the big events. Why isn't the upcoming Mexico show available outside of Japan? Is someone else showing it in the US? Guest Posted January 16, 2017 Posted January 16, 2017 Who is replacing Corino on commentary? I hope its Yoshitatsu Quote
undercover elephant Posted January 17, 2017 Posted January 17, 2017 Confirmed. Don Callis working alongside Kevin Kelly on English commentary for New Japan World Quote
Pier Six Brawler Posted January 17, 2017 Posted January 17, 2017 Callis is as good a choice as any. Where has this been reported btw? Quote
undercover elephant Posted January 17, 2017 Posted January 17, 2017 Callis is as good a choice as any. Where has this been reported btw?Don announced the news in the opening segment of Killing the Town. Quote
Pier Six Brawler Posted January 17, 2017 Posted January 17, 2017 Did Callis ever work in Japan? For WAR perhaps? Quote
Ambulance Chaser Posted January 17, 2017 Posted January 17, 2017 Pretty sure he worked over there, I'm sure he has told Japan stories on Killing The Town. Great choice, he needs to be utilised more in Wrestling, speaks so well and isn't afraid to voice an opinion. Quote
Pier Six Brawler Posted January 17, 2017 Posted January 17, 2017 He's 52, I don't know what he can do in the US at this point. But the NJPW World gig is a good one for him. I really liked Corino, hopefully Callis can keep up the high standard of commentary. Quote
Paid Members IANdrewDiceClay Posted January 17, 2017 Paid Members Posted January 17, 2017 Kenny Omega got him the job. Callis (oddly) actually hunted down a tweet I did to Kenny Omega where I said "never stop trying to get Cyrus hired" and replied to me this morning saying "he didnt and now its official." Cant help but think in some ways I am to thank for this ... Quote
