Yess Good to finally get a name confirmed as the gaming convention seems to be getting everyone A press release the convention put out the other day also said Ishii and Suzuki-Gun are in the UK so assume they will be announced soon as well. I saw a list on twitter that had a list of the bulk of the roster of NJPW and what event they were scheduled for, ROH are running shows same time as well as the gaming convention and it left about 16 names not scheduled so assuming they are the ones coming over for this. Paid Members air_raid Posted May 3, 2018 Paid Members Posted May 3, 2018 That's alright. Some kind of KES & Desperado v Evil/Sanada/Bushi, Okada & Ospreay or Tana & Kushida v Suzuki & ZSJ I imagine. Quote
TildeGuy~! Posted May 3, 2018 Posted May 3, 2018 (edited) So the Dontaku show has just ended. Im surprised that The Bucks and Scurll won the 6 Man titles, considering they have things going on in different divisions, then they just went with Evil and Sanada Vs The Young Bucks for Dominion anyways. The Cody/Ibushi and Omega/Page matches were a brutal watch which I found very entertaining. Final Dontaku Show tomorrow morning headlined by Ospreay/Kushida and Okada/Tanahashi, I can finally see Tanahashi dethroning Okada. Edited May 3, 2018 by TildeGuy~! Quote

I can't say I am surprised by the result of the 6 man, it is just a part of the civil war angle, so the swap makes sense, the faction keeps them but only by beating themselves. I have seen a few say they think Tana winning and while I think I would love it, I'm not sure it will happen. Quote

That would be a shame. Quote

DavidParis Posted May 3, 2018 Posted May 3, 2018 I can actually see under dog Tana winning the title tomorrow. Okada is still crazy young and if he breaks Tanas record then he’s literally achieved everything there is to do. If Tanahashi prevents Okada from breaking his record then there is still something for Okada to strive for years from now and a story to be told. Quote

Or to put it another way, Tanahashi on top is pretty much done, Okada beating HIM to break his record is such a Japanese story to tell (much like beating him finally at a Kingdom) and they need to do that NOW while they still can. Systematically everything Tana did, Okada is taking over/eclipsing, because they want to be talking about him for the next ten years, not leaving their audience in any doubt over who the top guy is, or if he ever really was that much better than Tanahashi. This is the exclamation point. Quote
TildeGuy~! Posted May 4, 2018 Posted May 4, 2018 Okada retains....Huge amounts of drama in that main event, Loved the last 15 minutes of that. Okada/Omega IV at Dominion! Los Ingobernables De Jericho! (I’m getting that shirt) Jericho finally made his New Japan return after 5 months, I’m loving his crazy uncontrollable persona in New Japan, telling everyone to fuck off and throwing any furniture he can at people. Ospreay/Kushida was fun as expected We got a Taiji Ishimori debut as Bone Soldier, who’ll slot in as the favourite to win the Best Of The Super Juniors coming up. Cody is great in New Japan such an awesome heel, loved him running into the crowd to take the shirt from the fan that Omega threw it to The Bullet Club drama is over, which leaves us with a Kenny/Cody match in Japan in the future. So I’m guessing this is what Dominion is looking like after that Kazuchika Okada(c) Vs Kenny Omega - 2 out of 3 falls - no time limit Tetsuya Naito(c) Vs Chris Jericho Will Ospreay(c) Vs Best Of The Super Juniors Winner Evil and Sanada(c) Vs The Young Bucks Hirooki Goto(c) Vs Michael Elgin Vs Taichi Jay White (c) Vs Juice Robinson Quote
Paid Members air_raid Posted May 4, 2018 Paid Members Posted May 4, 2018 Good on you lads thinking they'd prostitute making Okada into The Man to give Tana one last sentimental run even though he's fucking knackered. Looking forward to Okada Omega Osaka, OOO! Might go. Spoilers ..... Paid Members JNLister Posted May 4, 2018 Paid Members Posted May 4, 2018 I'd have thought Naito-Jericho was more likely for the Cow Palace show. Make it non-title and you can announce that right away and use it to shift some tickets. Quote
KingofSports Posted May 4, 2018 Posted May 4, 2018 I've only seen glimpses so far & will watch later. Ishimori turning up was (for me) bizarre. Less then 24 hours ago I watched an old Kensuke Office show from '09 (Sasaki / Ibushi v Akiyama / Ishimori) & wondered if NJPW would ever sign him back up. As they own NOAH, I guess he's kinda theirs anyway. I'd seen him in TNA, but not watched any of his matches, because TNA. It did make me wonder though, if he'd been sent there in the same way Okada was (years ago). Then fuck me, he suddenly appears. I've seen little of his work since 2012 or thereabouts, but really rated him in the Junior divisions. Superb athlete & great in-ring savvy. Having previously called for ZSJ & Ishimori now arriving, just a couple more needed, to my mind; Katsuhiko Nakajima & Hideki Suzuki...please. Couldn't see Tanahashi winning, nor think of any particular reason for him to get a shot in the first place. Sadly, he is a broken down mess and his matches in the past 18 months - 2 years haven't particularly interested me. I think he messed himself up between 2013 & 2015 when his schedule was heavy & has probably paid the price since. Shame, but them's the breaks. I wish he / NJPW would ditch that shitty entrance music too. Th'owd 'un was way better. Quote
