So yeah, this is fantastic. The movie is bookended by two awesome set pieces. The final showdown in the mall is a masterpiece and a sheer work of art. Chan is wonderful throughout the movie in combining his impeccable comedic timing with a serious tone at the flick of a switch. That final showdown features some incredible work by all involved and its no wonder the movie was christened 'Glass Story' on set.

Plus you get to see Chan doing the Moonwalk whilst trying to wipe dog shit off his shoe.

Love it. Love it. Love it.

Cracking film, and the start of an amazing series.  Not seen them for years, but I remember Police Story 3: Supercop being absolutely incredible, plus Michelle Yeoh is in it.

I saw Venom yesterday afternoon Its a fun movie... its not amazing, more like OK. a few things annoyed me though . no idea how to do spoiler tags so wont put them in. Hardy is good in it, they nailed the dark comedy of Venom. It does suffer witht the usual CGI fight sequences , everything happens so fast, its just a big blur..

Watched the Arrow Video 4K scan of City of the Living Dead the zombie, gory and bloody cult classic Italian horror film, the set is beautiful, as you would expect from Arrow and the picture quality is good, i can see a improvement from the last version Arrow released. If your intrested in watching a women bleed from her eyes and vomit up her entrails.. I would recommend it.

I'm one of those weirdos who adores bizarre horror movies and especially those of the classic Italian variety. City of the Living Dead is an outstanding watch and gets the atmosphere down to a T. Fulci was a god. If you haven't seen it and you enjoyed City, definitely check out The Beyond. It takes the suffocatingly evil atmosphere even further.

Well.. I just got out from seeing Climax and it's the only time a film has almost caused me to have a panic attack, the atmosphere is just that oppressive and once it gets there it doesn't really stop till it erm climaxes. It does verge on farce late in to the film but not as much as I expected from old Gaspar.

He really wears his influences on his sleeve here, copies of Salo and Possession amongst others poised against a TV at the start. It's a cinema experience for sure, I can't imagine it hitting it's notes on a small screen and speakers.

A fair few of you will hate it.

I have a beautiful steelbooks of The Beyond. Its one of my Favourite horror films. Hoping that Arrow do the same as they have done with city to that and house by the cemetery.

Just watched Maniac Cop 2 and 3. The second one is the best of the series, there's a fire stunt in there which is legitimately one of the most lunatic things I've ever seen. It's great fun.

The third one's a bit of a mess in terms of its plot and makes no sense at times but again it's pretty good fun and has a bizarrely talented cast for a slasher sequel.

I'm fond of Maniac Cop 3 but you're right it's a bit of a mess. Maniac Cop 2 is superb. The fire stunts are top notch.

I might be wrong but isn't Bill Lustig credited as Alan Smithee on Maniac Cop 3 because of the troubles they had in production?

That's right, but I don't think he's credited as Smithee on all versions. Plus he's listed on IMDb as its director, and Wikipedia too.

3 is still pretty good considering all the messing around that was done with it. I wonder if Lustig would have done more with the 'Bride of Maniac Cop' idea if he'd been left alone, it seems like the sort of idea he and Larry Cohen would do.

Watched Halloween 6. Well, a custom hybrid cut that combines the producers cut with the theatrical cut.

H6 does have one the best Fall/Halloween atmospheres, a brutal Myers, the best mask since H2 (altho it didn't have much to live up to with H4/H5) some excellent cinematography and some good, gory kills. It really does convey the Halloween look very well and even in the daytime scenes, it does a good job of keeping the tension going.

I forgot how good the mask actually looked in this too. There's a part where Myers killed Tim Strode and you see the mask in a mirror and it looks fantastic. Myers himself is one of the best and Wilber does a v.good job.

Now, I'm not suddenly saying the movie is great overall. It still features the thorn nonsense and the story is still a convoluted mess that should have been made far tighter. But there's a lot of promise in this movie and if the studio/director/producers could have just settled on one vision for it, it would have been more promising.

But I still quite enjoy part 6 and always have done. Just a shame they couldn't have made a more coherent story. Far too many cooks in the kitchen.

R.I.P Donald Pleasance.

That Michael Myers kid got nothing on this dude.

All he wanted to do was look at some porn dammit.

Brilliantly rubbish. Naff acting, terrible dialogue, dodgy 80's dubbing and lots of gore. You even get Bruce Le in cameo as the Kung Fu Professor.

80's horror in all its g(l)ory. It does exactly what it says on the tin, it's so bad it's good and I bloody love it. Love it.

That poor waterbed.
