Merzbow
Richard Herring's Leicester Square Theatre Podcast is back!  Sadly the first episode features general bellend Iain Lee, but at least it's back  Iain's ace, I used to think he was a dickhead from his TV days doing that 11 O'Clock Show act but he makes excellent radio now. Paid Members Nick Soapdish Posted June 17, 2016 Paid Members Share Posted June 17, 2016 Richard Herring's Leicester Square Theatre Podcast is back! Â Sadly the first episode features general bellend Iain Lee, but at least it's back 1999 called and wants your view of Iain Lee back. Â Seriously, he was a crap "character" on that show, but his radio work, especially now on Talk Radio is fantastic
Art Vandelay
The Bill Simmons podcast is awesome. I'm a big fan of Bill and his work. The podcast is part of the 'Channel 33' network, which belongs to www.theringer.com. Lots of great podcasts on there, a good mix of sports and pop culture. Paid Members Sergio Mendacious Posted June 17, 2016 Paid Members Share Posted June 17, 2016 Listened to Malcolm Gladwell's new podcast, thought that the first episode was fantastic, if a little... Malcolm Gladwell-ey.

wordsfromlee
I thought Iain Lee was great on Adam Buxton's podcast the other week.
DCW
I've been listening to Doug Stanhopes podcast in work for about half a year now and it's an incredible narrative at times. If you have not listened to it the basic set up is him and all his burnout mates at his 'funhouse' bar/compound in Bisbee, Arizona on the Mexican border. Comedian friends will pass through every now and then but he never really has any known, mainstream guests. Journalists, fans and would be comedians passing through are also heavily encouraged to stay the night and get wasted with them to do some podcasting. He regularly gives out his address and encourages letters and gifts to be sent to him, most of which get a mention on air. Â Plenty of podcasts are worthless for their comedy value. Some portray Stanhope in a pretty harsh light if you're not down with the darker than dark comedy thing. A lot shock just for the sheer warped mentality him and his group of friends seem to share. You get the sense half the regular cast will either drink themselves to death or off themselves in some other fashion at some point. Â When it's on point it's engrossing though. I don't think there is another podcast like it. A couple of months back in started charting his girlfriend Bingo's relapse into serious schizophrenic thought. It covered an episode which saw Stanhope smuggle litres of vodka onto a cruise ship buried in a suitcase beneath dozens of dildos (because nobody will check) and bring a 21 year old girl back to his and Bingo's room for a threesome only to have Bingo tell him she's been cheating anyway and wants a breakup. Â This is podcasted right after the fact. With Bingo on the podcast. They make fun of her new boyfriend whose only toilet is in a dirty outhouse, christen him 'Washtub Willy' and eventually bring him on the show too to grill him when Bingo goes missing. The Bingo missing stuff goes on for a few episodes, then she gets sectioned and the podcast rallies Doug's fans into mailing her hundreds of packets of cigarettes in the psyche ward. Â It goes on and on. They've recently got Bisbee to be USA Today's #1 small town in America. Doug's not even the best thing about it. That honor goes to Chad Shank, his nihlistic trainwreck friend who seems really likeable and violent all at the same time. Love the Stanhope podcast. Some of the very early ones are brilliant as well. He'd have really interesting guests on. The two parter about nowhere man and whiskey girl is fantastic, and quite sad. Â Doug's new book is really good as well. Made being delayed 9 hours in Reykjavik airport a few weeks ago very bearable.
Paid Members Sergio Mendacious Posted June 22, 2016 Paid Members Share Posted June 22, 2016 I take back some of what I said about Athletico Mince — Bob's brass hand references, and the "observational humour", have both been knackering me up whilst I'm trying to work.   "“Do you remember when you were a kid and had the measles and your mam would leave you at home when she went to the bingo and you’d starve to death? Do you remember it? That were a laugh, weren’t it?!”"
Awards Moderator HarmonicGenerator Posted June 22, 2016 Awards Moderator Share Posted June 22, 2016 My Dad wrote a Porno is absolutely belting. Give it a listen. Had this on in the car this week, a fun easy listen. I could do with the music jingles and the recap at the start of each episode, but every one so far has given me at least one laugh out loud moment. RancidPunx
Joe Rogan has Russell Brand on last week. Some other geezer was also on. Â Â Worth a listen if you like Joe.

WestCoastPop619
Sorry to bump the thread.. Â I've found myself caught up with all my wrestling podcasts, and to be honest I'm looking for something different that's going to grip me the way serial did when that was blowing up.
